LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
•Read the article about olive oil and match five words with their definitions.

• Read the incomplete article about olive oil and choose 10 most suitable words to fit the
2 gaps in the article

ACTIVITIES 1 SET INDUCTION : 5 MINUTES
• Write Food, Food, Food! on the board and explain to pupils that this is the title of Unit 2.
Give pupils a minute to write down as many food-related words in English as they can. Then
write the headings savoury, sweet and drinks on the board and ask pupils to call out the words
they have written down and to say which column they should go in. If pupils also mention
words linked to meals, (breakfast, lunch, etc.) then create another column with the heading

have to do.
• Encourage pupils to read through all sentences before selecting their answer and to pay
attention to the words immediately before and after each gap.
• Ask pupils to do the task individually but check as a class

asks them to vote for their favourite suggestion.

2 LESSON DELIVERY : 50 minutes
