Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hello, my name is Mrs. Thieme and I am very excited to have the opportunity to
educate and motivate your child to learn in my classroom this year. I have many fun
activities planned that will help your child create, explore, discover, and relate to the
world around them. I will be sending information home such as; weekly progress
reports, classroom newsletters, student planners, and homework folders to keep you
updated on what is being taught in the classroom and on your child’s progress.

There will be a time in class for children to complete most of their assignments and
they may have some homework at night. I do ask my students to read every night for
20 minutes Monday-Thursday.

I teach by using many different types of strategies to try and reach each individual
child’s needs. There will be many cooperative learning activities where the children will
have to work in teams to accomplish an assignment and projects. As a teacher, I
realize that each child learns differently and I will do my best to differentiate
instructions to make sure that your child has that opportunity to learn and be highly
successful this year.

Meet the Teacher at Back to School Night will be on August 14th from 5:00-
6:30pm (Grades 1-5) You may choose to come whenever is convenient for you during
this time as our classroom will be done as an open house to make it easier for those
families that have several back to school teachers you may need to meet with during
this time. Our 1st Day of School will be on Tuesday, August 15th.
