4th Grade
I am very excited about this new school year. We are going to have so much fun
while learning. My classroom theme is all about amusement parks. We will be having
many incentives for special amusement park activities, food, jobs, and tickets that
students will be able to participate in daily.

The curriculum the students will be learning this year is the following:

● Social Studies: We will be exploring Utah’s history. We will look at Utah’s

counties, economy, government, and the Utah Pioneers. Students will be
conducting many research projects and analyzing the then and now
differences in Utah.

● Science: We will be discovering and investigating organisms functioning in

their environment, energy transfer, wave patterns, and observations of
patterns in the sky. I will be conducting many classroom sciences &
engineering activities to help enhance students' learning.

● Math: We will be learning about long division, fractions, decimals, double-

digit multiplication, reading data/charts, patterns, geometric shapes,
measurements, and much more. I will be having the students work with math
manipulatives which allows them to participate in hands-on learning for
mathematics.

● Language Arts: We will be having literature centers each morning. In these

centers there will be; grammar, poetry, word working, spelling, computers,
handwriting, essay and story writing, children's articles, national geographic
magazines, and guided and dyad reading. Read Across Utah Counties
challenge for the year.

● Health: We will be focusing on being physically & mentally healthy,

substance abuse, human development & relationships, disease prevention,
safety & injury, nutrition fitness, and consumer & community health.
There will be lots to learn and I know that we are all going to have a fun ride
along the way!
