Climate change and biodiversity have been interconnected for a long

time. Biological diversity encompasses all plants, animals, microorganisms,
and the habitats in which they live and diversity within species and between
ecosystems. Biodiversity underpins ecosystem resources that are important for
human survival and well-being. Human movements have also led to
biodiversity loss and could have impacted necessary goods and resources for
human well-being.

Biodiversity, in and of itself, assists in the prevention of climate change.

Climate change has a hugely detrimental effect on biodiversity and the
human population. The world is increasingly warming as a result of the
combustion of fossil fuels. When CO2, a greenhouse gas, emissions rise,
temperature conditions in different parts of the world fluctuate, resulting in
climate change.

Climate change lifts the sea level by increasing ground and ocean
levels, shifting weather, and changing climate patterns. As a result, glaciers
melt, water inundates, weather cycles become less stable, extreme weather
events occur, squalor diseases propagate, animals migrate, and destroyed
woodland trees. As a result, climate change poses a severe threat to the
existing biodiversity.

On the other hand, biodiversity helps humans adapt to the adverse effects of
climate change.
