Pupils will make a design of an orchard layout that they need in planning
for their future expansion of fruit tree planting and seedlings production.
( each group will make a layout design)

Growing fruit trees and seedlings production is one of the source of living of
Cometa Family in our barangay. They raise fruit trees and seedlings and sell
them in the market. Study the table below and answer the following questions.

Each pupil will be asked to pick a strip of paper from a magic box. There
are 5 strips of paper that contains questions. Those who will get the strips
with question will answer it.
Questions:
1. What is the most practical thing to do if your harvest of fruits/fruit trees
is more than enough your needs?
2. How do you make money out of the fruit trees you grow?
3. What is the first requirement in planning your orchard?
4. What are the things to consider in deciding on the type of fruit trees
you want to offer /grow?
5. How will you take care of your seedlings to develop it into good trees
you can sell?

The teacher will let the pupils look at a picture of an orchard technician
and a resume.
Do you know who is in the picture? What is the picture next to it?
In planning for an expansion in a fruit tree planting and seedling
production business, hiring a competent orchard technician is very
important.

In a small group, the pupils will create a representation of a skilled/
experienced orchard technician. The characteristics of a skilled
/experienced orchard technician will be discuss by each group based on
the result of their sharing.
The teacher will verify the output of the two small groups and give
additional information about the skilled/experienced orchard technician.

The class will be group into 4.
The teacher will announce that a certain Mango Orchard in Malibayo is
looking for an orchard technician, pretend that you want to apply for the
position. Write an application letter describing your characteristics. Other
groups will read and decide if you will be hired.

Draw a picture of an orchard technician who will help you in the expansion
of your fruit tree planting and seedling production. Around the picture,
write the different characteristics that an experienced/skilled orchard
teachnician must have.

technician? Knowing this, how will it help you improve your quality of life
today?
