MINIMUM WIDTH > AS MUCH WIDTH AS NEEDED

- The purpose of the 2 zones in the flank zone that

Nagelsmann use is to teach spatial recognition of the rule
above. There is a difference in keeping maximum width
when needed to strech the opposition defense
horizontally compared to as much width as the wide
positioned players need in order to progress closer to the
penalty area as the graphics ''try'' to show.

@albinsheqiri93
Ralf Rangnick on Nagelsmann philosophy and principles of using 3 backline in possession:

'' Nagelsmann purpose to often play with the 3 backline is not only to defend better, but to have
more elements to build the game without being pressured by opponent. For him it is primarily an
attacking & not a defensive focus. When you start with 3 centrebacks and 2 wingbacks well ahead >
for the opposition it becomes riskier to cover all the players. You subtract a player from midfield but
force the opposition to make an extra effort in pressing. Let's imagine Leipzig face Liverpool who @albinsheqiri93

always play 4-3-3, if RBL play with a 3 backline, then the 3 attackers of Liverpool would put
pressure on the centrebacks and the goalkeeper. This leaves them with 3 midfielder against Leipzig
3 midfielder and as Robertson + Trent probably act very attacking they must take more risks in
order to not leave their centre-backs on equal numbers against Leipzig attackers. If you want to
pressure a defense of 3 that wants to play out, you must have much more conviction, or you
will risk of having your pressure broken ''
