Criminal Profile Report

There is still a serial killer at large. We have no known attributes on the killer, we only

know he is a male. All of his murders have been in the Lexington, KY area. He currently has ten

kills with the majority being women. The only males that were killed were a husband and son

that was killed with a mother and daughter as well in the same home. It is apparent that he

prefers his victims to be female. His female victims, other than the young girl in the family of

four that was killed, have ranged in ages 21-52 setting the average age of females at around 33

years of age. There was a 63 year old female that he stalked in her home, but chose not to attack,

possibly due to the age preference of his victims.

The majority of victims were found at home and had died from suffocation or being

stabbed to death, and sometimes both. The forensic pathologist also reported that he suffocated

them multiple times over and over again until they died and would get sexual pleasure from it,

leaving him to masterbate on the dead victims bodies. All victims were tortured in some way

which could indicate that the killer is a sadist. A sadist is an individual that finds torturing people

as “pleasurable, exciting, perhaps even sexually arousing” (Buckels, 2013). This could also help

explain why the killer masterbates on his dead victims corpses after he has tortured them to

death. I also believe that with him doing this to his victims he is suffering from paraphilia and

necrophilia which is where a person takes sexual pleasure in dead people or of things that are not

normal. One of the key attributes of necrophiliacs is that they “tend to be intelligent males with
otherwise normal personalities, with a mean reporting age of 34 years” (Ulsperger, 2014). This

could be why he prefers women with the same age range as himself. If necrophiliacs are also

known to be intelligent males, then this would also help us to know that he is one and of high

intelligence since he wrote letters and even a poem of his killings.

The killer could possibly strike again if not found. It would be best to be looking for any

male that has been stalking women or seen stalking women in the age range of 21-52. Most

necrophiliacs are men that were turned down by certain women and then find those women and

torture them to death, and then get their sexual pleasure from them. Our killer breaks into their

homes and waits for them to be alone so he can attack them, possibly after being rejected. “The

overt aim of the stalking is either to attain a reconciliation or to exact revenge for the rejection”

(Mullen, 2000). I would check all of the women's last known outings on the days prior to their

murders to check for any similar locations where men normally approach women such as bars,

grocery stores, gas stations, etc. This could be a good way to find the killers hang out spots

where he selects his victims at. I would suggest letting all women in this age range in Lexington,

KY to be alert and aware of their surroundings, and to have friends walk them to their homes to

check for anything out of the ordinary.

Several questions that I have gathered for police to look into were:

1. What items were missing from the homes of the victims per the families reports?

2. How did the police know it was the same killer after the fifth kill? What evidence

proved this?

3. After the fifth murder, Why did the killer send a letter saying they killed the first

family, but not the fifth person?

4. With the letters and poems being sent in from the killer, was there no

fingerprints?

5. The voice was aired on the radio from the 911 call of the killer, with all of the

reports of people, were there any mutual names that kept coming in and was that

person brought in for questioning?

6. Why didn't he kill the 63 year old lady? Why send her a letter letting her know he

was there and didn't kill her?

7. The final victim was the only victim not murdered at home, but their bedroom did

appear to be the scene of an attack. Did this victim attempt to fight him off and

run from the home to the bridge?

8. A letter is later written claiming they killed the sixth and seventh victims with

details on each crime, the letter also states another unnamed victim, so would this

raise the body count to eleven? Who is the victim? Where are they located? Why

don’t we have this information already?
