The curriculum is the basis for the teacher, based on each topic, the teacher should draw up a detailed plan for
each lesson, indicate sources of information (workbooks), additional materials in the form of multimedia, games,
presentations, projects.
Art
Grade 1-2
Topics: Colors, Drawing, Painting, Crafts and Collage, Art Appreciation, Cultural Art,
Expressive Art, Art Elements and Principles, Art Techniques
1. Colors: Students learn about different colors, their names, and how to mix primary colors
to create secondary colors. They explore color theory through various art projects and learn
to express their preferences and emotions using colors.
2. Drawing: Students develop basic drawing skills by practicing lines, shapes, and forms.
They learn to draw simple objects, animals, and people, focusing on proportions,
perspective, and observation. They also experiment with different drawing tools such as
pencils, markers, and crayons.
3. Painting: Students are introduced to painting techniques and materials. They learn about
watercolors, acrylics, tempera, or other types of paints. They explore brush strokes, color
blending, and layering techniques while creating their own artworks.
4. Crafts and Collage: Students engage in hands-on craft activities and collage-making.
They learn about different materials such as paper, scissors, glue, and recycled objects to
create collages, sculptures, masks, or other craft projects. They develop skills in cutting,
pasting, and assembling artwork.
5. Art Appreciation: Students are exposed to various famous artworks and artists to develop
an appreciation for art history and different artistic styles. They learn about well-known
artists, explore their works, and discuss their own interpretations and preferences.
6. Cultural Art: Students explore art from different cultures and regions, learning about
traditional art forms, symbols, and techniques. They may create art inspired by these
cultures and gain an understanding and respect for diverse artistic practices.
7. Expressive Art: Students are encouraged to express themselves through art. They
engage in art activities that foster imagination, creativity, and personal expression. This may
include free drawing, imaginative storytelling through art, or creating artworks based on
personal experiences and emotions.
8. Art Elements and Principles: Students learn about basic art elements such as line, shape,
form, color, texture, and space. They also explore principles of design such as balance,
unity, contrast, emphasis, and pattern.
9. Art Techniques: Students are introduced to basic art techniques, such as shading,
blending, layering, and texture creation. They practice these techniques in their artworks to
add depth, dimension, and visual interest.
Grade 3-4
Topics: Drawing Skills, Painting Techniques, Sculpture and Clay Modeling, Printmaking, Art
History and Cultural Art, Collage and Mixed Media, Art Elements and Principles, Creative
Expression, Art Critique and Analysis, Environmental and Recycled Art
1. Drawing Skills: Students continue to develop their drawing skills, focusing on more
complex shapes, forms, and objects. They learn about proportion, symmetry, and
perspective, expanding their ability to draw more realistic representations.
2. Painting Techniques: Students are introduced to various painting techniques and mediums
such as watercolors, acrylics, or tempera paints. They learn about color mixing, brushwork,
shading, and blending to create depth and texture in their artwork.
3. Sculpture and Clay Modeling: Students explore three-dimensional art by working with
different materials like clay or modeling dough. They learn basic sculpting techniques and
create sculptures or pottery, understanding concepts such as form, texture, and space.
6. Collage and Mixed Media: Students experiment with collage techniques, combining
different materials such as paper, fabric, found objects, and photographs. They learn about
composition, layering, and exploring different textures and colors to create visually
interesting artworks.
7. Art Elements and Principles: Students deepen their understanding of art elements such as
line, shape, color, form, texture, and space, as well as principles of design like balance,
contrast, emphasis, and rhythm. They apply these concepts in their artworks to create more
sophisticated compositions.
9. Art Critique and Analysis: Students learn to analyze and discuss artworks, including their
own and those of their peers. They develop skills in providing constructive feedback,
discussing artistic choices, and interpreting the messages conveyed through visual art.
10. Environmental and Recycled Art: Students explore the concept of environmental art and
the use of recycled materials. They learn to repurpose objects and materials to create
unique artworks while learning about sustainability and environmental awareness.
