What are methods of Brainstorming and Its meaning?
The 4 Types of Brainstorming

• Reverse Brainstorming. A creative problem-solving technique in

which the problem is turned around and considered from a different
point of view to spur new and different solutions.

o Reverse Brainstorming is a technique that builds on our natural

ability to more easily see problems than solutions. Instead of
asking a group to brainstorm ideas that would work, the group
brainstorms all the ways that they could cause a plan to fail.
• Stop-and-Go Brainstorming.

o Stop-and-go brainstorming is a brainstorming technique that

switches between creative thinking and careful evaluation. The
group will "go" for a period of time where they brainstorm ideas.
Following this period, they will "stop," where they have an
opportunity to identify gaps within the ideas they have come up
with

• Phillips 66 Brainstorming.

o A problem-solving technique in which a group of six people

brainstorms for six minutes and then a spokesman for each
group presents either the best ideas or all ideas to the larger
group.

• Brainwriting.
o Brainwriting is an idea generation technique where participants
write down their ideas about a particular question for a few
minutes without talking. Then, each person passes his or her
ideas to the next person who uses them as a trigger for adding
or refining their own ideas.
