Cell phones start at an atomic level

Chemistry is how we are able to use our phones

The cellphone screen has organic polymers within the display that can take electricity and turn

it into the colors that we see in the pictures

Printed circuit board is the main thing that runs the phone through the battery

There are tiny copper wires on printed circuit boards that act like roads between all of the other

electrical components

In order to get a phone down to the size where it will fit in your pocket, the circuitry has to be

miniaturized

Photolithography uses electromagnetic radiation to shrink some of the circuitry to get more

into a smaller space
