The effects of diet on our lives

Sometimes, people do not give importance to their diet and just eat what they find so they can
continue with their usual activities. However, they fail to notice that diet has an effect on our
daily performance. In this essay I will discuss two groups of people and state which of them is
most at risk of eating unhealthily.

First, we have to consider children’s diets. Many people believe that the habit of having a
healthy diet should come from home. Also, some studies claim that children whose diet is
balanced work harder in school and achieve better results. In my opinion, not only is this
important for their education, but for a proper growth and development.

However, college students may not follow the same diet that they had when they were
children and lived with their parents. Moreover, if we consider that most of their time is spent
on studying or working, they have no time to cook a proper meal. This may result in them
eating fast food and drinking a big amount of coffee to stay awake at night. And over time this
could be bad for their health leading to overweight or sleep disorders.

In conclusion, diet has a major impact on the lives of people of all ages. Fortunately for
children their parents can help them follow a diet that leads them to a good development.
Nevertheless, college students may not take into account the importance of a good diet due to
a lack of time in their lives and therefore are most at risk of eating unhealthily.
