ONLY Architectural Design (AD) 10 students who will submit COMPLETE


ARCHITECTURAL PLANS AND DRAWINGS (Drafted and Rendered / Fully-Mounted /
Printed) ON BOARDS be ENDORSED by the Thesis Council. Below are the expected
minimum requirements:

I. CONCEPT BOARD
A. Title Block with Project Title, Text and Images (Appropriate-Sized)
B. It should reflect:
1. Design Philosophy
2. Design Concept
3. Project Goal and Three (3) Project Objectives
4. Three (3) Design Objectives and Five (5) Design Considerations
5. Conceptual Development, Evolution of Forms / Form or Shape Finding
6. Site Analysis

II. SITE DEVELOPMENT PLAN (SDP)


A. Title Block with Scale (Appropriate-Sized), Drawing Title, Building Labels
(Inside and Outside the SDP), and Graphical Bar Scale
B. It should reflect:
1. SDP based on True North (with North Orientation symbol)
2. Property Line – use appropriate standard broken line type
3. Site Slope – use appropriate standard line type, if applicable
4. Building Line and Label identification – use appropriate and acceptable
font size
5. Vicinity Map / Location of Out of Nearby (Outside SDP) Buildings – use
Light (Hairline) Line Drawing
6. Road and Traffic
a. Road Networks (with Street Name) and Driveways
b. Traffic Flow Directional Arrow
c. Parking bays (car icon optional)
7. Landscaping (if applicable)
a. Sidewalks and external walkways
b. Trees – Light (Hairline) lines and / or render
8. Roof
a. Slope Indication (Directional Arrow or Slope Gradation)
b. Roof Ridge and Roof Layout and Gutter Indication
9. Utility Areas (Power / Electrical, Water tank location or plan)
10. Rendered SDP / with Shades and Shadows

III. ARCHITECTURAL PLANS


A. Title Block with Scale (Appropriate-Sized), Drawing Title, Building and Room
Labels, and Graphical Bar Scale
B. Graphical elements: Reference Grid and Grid Measurement (Optional and of
light lines), Section Lines (in Light Lines)
C. It should reflect:
1. Solid Walls / Shear Walls / Retaining Walls – Solid Black or Dark Grey
rendering for all
2. Shear Walls – Proper line thickness
3. Columns – Solid Black or Dark Grey rendering for all
4. Doors (heavy) and door swings (light / hairline)
5. Windows, glass walls and panels, and balcony railings – Light lines
6. Stair, escalator, ramps – Proper line weights (direction indicator arrow)
and graphical symbols (Stair and Ramp cuts and gradation and arrow
indicator)
7. Elevators and dumbwaiters (shear wall, cars and counterweight)
8. Toilet Facilities
a. Fixture Layout (toilet, sinks, urinals, slop sinks)
b. Shower enclosure should include drain layout
c. Tile Pattern Layout
9. Furniture Layout (in bedrooms, kitchens, offices, living rooms, dining
rooms and halls, theatre seating, museum exhibits, sports court - track
layout, operating rooms, carnival rides, etc.)
10. Roof line, skylight, and building parapets – Line weights
11. Utility rooms and spaces – pipe chase
12. Specialized floor patterns (Optional)
13. Ground Floor (in lieu of Plan on Site)
a. Outdoor threshold or porch
b. Cut portion of Extended walkways beyond porch or threshold
c. Parking Bays (Include Minimal Car-Motorcycle Icon for Reference)
14. Others
a. Open Below – use solid light (hairline) lines
b. Open Above – use broken light lines)

IV. ELEVATIONS
A. Title Block with Scale (Appropriate-Sized), Drawing Title, Building Labels, and
Graphical Bar Scale
B. Graphical elements: Reference Grid and Grid Measurement (Optional and of
light lines), and Floor-to-floor Labels (Natural Ground Line to Building Apex
measurement) Identify Finish Ground Line and Natural Grade Line
C. It should reflect:
1. Building Form and Texture / Finishes of Roofing and Walls
2. Utilities – Mechanical Room, Water tanks, Air-con / Condenser Covering
3. Landscaping if applicable

a. Main Lobby, Grand Atrium with Chandeliers or Drop Lights
b. Toilet – tiling, appropriate fixtures and fittings
c. Vertical access:
1) Stairs and Stair Railings
2) Elevator Car and Counter Weight, Elevator Pit and Machine Room
d. Specialized
1) Furniture Layout for Sports Equipment, Theatre Seating and
Raking,
2) Important Architectural Interior Fit-outs
3) Suggested Museum Exhibit Pieces (Large Scale Exhibits), Aircraft
and Vehicle icons
4) Automobile Icon for Garage and Showrooms

VI. ARCHITECTURAL BAY SECTION (No structural detailing of beams,


columns, stairs, ramps, footings)
A. Title Block with Scale (Appropriate-Sized), Drawing Title, Building and
Room Labels, and Graphical Bar Scale
B. Graphical elements: Reference Grid and Grid Measurement (Optional and
of light lines), and Floor-to-floor / ceiling Labels (Natural Ground Line to
Building Apex measurement)
C. Building Form (Appropriate-Scaled) and Texture / Finishes (Appropriate
Representation of Building Materials) All cut walls, columns, stairs, ramps,
beams shall be of required scale and using appropriate graphical
representation for poured concrete, wood, metal or other building
construction methods

1. Architectural and / or Interior Design Elements
2. Floor tile finish and thickness

VII. ARCHITECTURAL DETAIL DRAWINGS (NO Cut and Paste Drawings


allowed)
A. Title Block with Scale (Appropriate-Sized), Drawing Title, Building and
Room Labels, and Graphical Bar Scale
B. Graphical elements: Reference Grid and Grid Measurement (Optional and
of light lines), and Floor-to-floor Labels (Natural Ground Line to Building
Apex measurement)
C. Drawings and Labels should be Complete. It should include:
1. All Parts and Details
2. Measurements
3. Thicknesses and Gauges
4. Texture and Materials
5. Instructions of installation

VIII. PERSPECTIVES
A. All perspectives (Interior and Exterior) should be fully rendered and
consistent with the SDP and / or Architectural Plans
B. It should reflect:
1. Appropriate Entourage (People, Vehicles, Street Architecture,
Landscaping, etc.)
2. Signage and Flag Staff (If applicable)
3. The surrounding community (i.e. Based on Reality)
4. Aerial Perspective for group buildings with building highlighted (not
covered by entourage or landscaping)
