15 KEY POINTS FROM THE AD 10 CLUSTER MEETING:

1. As of this writing, the lifting of the Quarantine Period was moved to April 14, as such FACULTY
ENDORESEMENT SHALL BE ON THE 17TH OF APRIL (FRIDAY), WHILE COMMITTEE ENDORSEMENT
WILL BE ON THE 18TH OF APRIL (SATURDAY). THESIS DEFENSE WILL BEGIN ON THE 20TH OF APRIL
2020.

2. Advisers are reminded that students who do not deserve to be endorsed, should be dropped from the
course. Furthermore, the students are advised to drop the course a.) should the student be infected by any
highly contagious disease, particularly, the COVID-19; b.) Work is not up to par with the expected
competencies for a Graduating student. c.) The student cannot print/ finish their works on time.

3. Endorsement Committee shall be comprised of 5 members: Ar. Noche, Ar. Dela Cuesta, Ar. Garcia, Ar.
Hernandez, and Ar. Clemente. They will only look at completeness and compliance with the graphical
standard guidelines

4. After the Committee Endorsement, keeping of boards and thesis book shall be overseen by Ar. Amador
and Ar. Tejuco. Storage of these Thesis Documents shall be held in a computer room at the 5 th floor. Safety
and security measures would have to be put in place and an organized system will be set for depositing and
claiming of documents

5. Minimum Requirements for Endorsement are still the same : 30” x 40” or 20” x 30” boards (No maximum
number of boards). There is no prescribed title block, but proper drawing titles should be placed without
overpowering the layout

6. Advisers are reminded that students should follow the graphical presentation guidelines forwarded via
email

7. In lieu of the restrictions of movement and curfew announced, early endorsement will ensure viability of
students works. Students need to be prepared for the possibility of difficult printing. Advisers are required to
scrutinize carefully students’ capabilities in fulfilling required outputs

8. Hard Bound Thesis Book must have a SafeAssign certification that the work is not plagiarized. Students
should also include their inspirations/ design precedents they followed as attachments to the book.

9. Advanced copy of Executive Summaries is not anymore required. Executive summary for jury members on
date of defense stays.

10. Students should be prudent as to how printing of their boards will happen. It is best to find printers most
convenient for them. Drawings are suggested to be finished and ready for printing earlier than the Adviser’s
Endorsement

11. If student was able to finish all the requirements on time and is endorsed, and if he/she should contract
the disease during the defense period (or any other meritorious case), rules pertaining to unavailability during
defense will follow:
a. If student finished work and contracted the disease or is quarantined prior to endorsement,
electronic file should be sent to advisor immediately for assessment. If work is judged
compete by adviser then work will be put on hold till student is out of quarantine. Reschedule
of defense will be assigned.
b. If student contracted the disease before endorsement and work is not finished or complete,
then student should immediately inform adviser and drop the course. This is under the
premise that the work regardless of CONIV 19 or not is not endorsable.

12. Revision of boards beyond Committee Endorsement


a. It is allowed so long as revisions should not be too different from the original, and signed by
the Adviser
b. The Original boards that were placed with the Custodians should also be shown to prove that
the Adviser approved the change

13. Students are advised to refrain from posting their works online for mutual protection of the school and
students’ integrity.

14. Change of Title and Objectives will be allowed as long as the formats are followed and that the Thesis
Adviser duly signs the pertinent documents attached to the Thesis Book

15. In the event that the COVID 19 problems persist beyond the April 14 scenario that has been currently set,
in most likelihood, the Thesis Defense will not continue as scheduled.
