Before driving to your installation-assignment:


For every installation you will need:
Notebook with network connection
Drilling machine
6mm drill -POS System(s) with Periphery:
- Touch-Monitor
- customer display
- Receipt printer
- Scanner

-As well as:

-8-port-switch (national)
-16-port-switch (Store with 2 POS)
-Lancom-Router
-patch cable set
Before starting your work, you need to check:
-whether the shipments have reached the store flawlessly and intact (pallet strapped in blue stretch film (Rowius)
and parcel (Takko))

• DSL socket to Provider Router DSL


• The TAE- F-Plug of the telephone via the patch panel to the cashdesk

• DSL Router LAN 1 to the VPN Router Cisco MX64 Port „Internet“ “yellow patch cable“
• VPN Router LAN 1 to Switch Port 1 „grey patch cable“
• VPN Router LAN 2 to Access Point via the Patchpanel „grey patch cable“
Installation Access Point

For the WLAN-installation you will need:


-an Access Point
-power supply

The access point is installed above the door to the storage room or in the middle of the store
There is always a network connection and a power connection available.
New Layout & Wiring of the IT Rack

Install the FritzBox, Cisco Router and Switch,


which should have been included in the
shipment from Takko. Afterwards please take
the FritzBox into operation, then the Cisco
Router and as soon as the router is online,
please start the Cisco Switch

Cisco LED Description:


Color run = Device is starting
Weiß (blinking) = Firmware Update is running
White = System is online
Orange = System is offline, no internet connection

Please wire the IT rack according to the


attached checklist.

There are air-conditioning systems installed in


the newer stores, which need 1-2 network
connections.
Therefore please connect Port 19 and 20 on the
patch panel with the switch as well.
Wiring of the IT-Rack

Installation of the MDE & Craddle
− Please lower the compartmet of the POS for


about 2 units, so that the MDE can be
removed from the charging station

− Please connect the MDE Craddle (charging


station) with the included power supply and a
network cable to Port 4

− Patch the cable within the IT-Rack to one of


the switch‘s ports.


Installation of the POS
Please put all components on the counter and
run all the wires individually for each part.

If there is a credit card terminal included within


the scope of delivery (Germany, Slovakia),
please install this device as well.

Afterwards please take care to close up each lid


and every opening (cable bushing at the
counter, cable runs on the monitors of the
terminal).

Please use the strain relief of the printer.


Installation EC Terminal
This is an example for Germany – perhaps in other countries it is different. Normally there is no RS-232 data connection

Please connect the cables as shown in the


illustration.
− RS-232 data connection: communication with
the POS system via Port „COM1“
− Power supply: supplies the EC terminal with
power (please use a red cable tie)
− Network connection: communication with the
internet network socket Port 3

Wiring of the POS
Please pull the following cables:
2x DVI cable (Monitor BA93)
1x 24V printer cable
1x Scanner cable
1x Network cable for the EC Terminal
1x Power supply cable for the EC Terminal
1x RS-232 Date cable for the EC Terminal
Through the oppening at the cashdesk.

After connecting the wires to the POS, please


fix each cable separately in the compartment.

The POS PC has to rest outside of the


compartment during this work section.

The cable reserve is needed for POS


maintenance works.

Connection and Wiring of the POS & EC
The lenght of the cables should be
enough for the „Beetle“ to be able to be
put on the floor without any troubles.
Please put protection between the POS
and the floor.

The surplus cables are to be stored on the intermediate floor.

Please use the green patch cable for the network connection or use a green
cable tie to mark the network cable accordingly.

Lable the Power-DVI-Cable of the customer display with a yellow cable tie.

Please lable the power cord and the connection box of the terminal with a red
cable tie.
Please use a red cable tie for the network connection of the terminal
Connection of the InStore Music wire.
The audio or BNC-Cable should be
prepared in this way or similarly. Please
use the supplied cable.

For all store opening assignments you will find an audio cable in the POS-area.
Said cables should already be prepared for connection to the speaker output. If this is not the case,
please use your plugs and couplings and connect the audio cable to the yellow connection socket labeled
„SPK“ at the Beetle.

−Secure the cable of the adapter against accidental disconection


(please use the loop of the lid of the Beetle M3
Set-Up and installation of the telephone
(POS area)

- Please use the included modem cable (RJ-11 to RJ-45) and connect the phone
to the cash register port 3, the telephone can be placed on the cash register or in
a compartment.

Wiring at the amplifier

The other end of the audio cable is to be found in the staff room.
If said cable happens to be too long: please shorten it until it has the correct length.

Please connect the audio-cable to the amplifier.

Z1 – for internal speakers


Z2 – for external speakers

When the POS-System is switched on and is in use, the InStore-Music will be played directly in
the store.

Please leave a clean cabling. All the surplus cables are to be tied together with a cable tie.

Please check the volume control inside and outside of the store.
Afterwards the store manager is to receive a short instruction as to how the amplifier and the
volume control are used.
Installing Backoffice
- Please install Backoffice equipment:
- IGEL Thinclient with monitor, mouse and keybord and
connect the IGEL to network
- Lexmark MFP-printer and connect it to network

For Verification phone Takko-IT +49 2504 923 111. They


should check the network connection
Cash Register Software Setup
- Start the cash register
- Close the cash register program (click 10 times at the
top left, Password „1“ and then „OK“.

- First start of the M3 query:
- System environment (1 = PROD)
- Country (1= Germany)
- POS (1 = POS 1 / 2 = POS 2)

according to the Datalogic QD2430 instructions (Please
take along printed version)

Please call Takko in order to get your assignment approved after finishing your works: Tel. +2504 923 – 505 or -765

If ANY problems or delays happen to occur during the installation: please contact the Rowius Hotline immediately.

After finishing the assignment, please turn in a fully filled in technician report.

Pictures are to be taken according to the guidelines given within this documentation.

Said photos should include (after work completion):

- The IT Rack (all components should be seen)

- Connections of the Beetle POS (POS should be placed on the floor)

- Connections of the Audio-Amplifier (Front and Back)

- The entire POS area (as seen by customers)


Checking POS Software
- Contact the Takko Hotline for verification:

- Please test:
- Handscanner (instructions scanned?)
- Receipt printer opens?
- Initialize EC + diagnosis (-everything successful?)
- Cash drawer opens?
- Customer screen shows Takko advertising?
- Music can be heard?

- If all tests are successful ask for the final E-Mail to


Rowius.
