Astronomers have discovered 12 more
moons orbiting Jupiter. The planet now
has 92 known moons. That’s more moons
than any planet in our solar system.
Telescopes in Hawaii and Chile spotted
the new moons. Scientists had to confirm
the discovery. It took about a year. The moons
are small. They’re less than two miles across. They
could be pieces of bigger moons that broke off.
“I hope we can image one of these outer moons
close-up,” Scott Sheppard says. He was on the
discovery team. He works for the Carnegie Institution
for Science. Sheppard wants “to better determine

KUNG FU PANDA RETURNS

Po the panda is back in Kung Fu Panda:
The Dragon Knight. Actor Jack Black is the
voice of Po. The giant panda teams up with
an English knight (Rita Ora). They set
out to rescue a set of magical weapons.
They might even save the world.
PETER HASTINGS is one of the
show’s producers. He says creating
action is easy with Po. “All you have to do
is throw him into a new situation, and fun
stuff is going to happen.”

LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
CHAD OTIS is an author and an illustrator.
His new book, The Bright Side, is about
finding hope in difficult situations. Its
hero is a boy who lives with his family
in an old school bus. They can’t afford
to live anywhere else. This is something Otis
experienced when he was a kid. He knows others
might have similar struggles. TFK Kid Reporter
Zarita Asgar spoke to Otis. He wants kids who
are going through similar
struggles to know, “You are
not alone. Stay strong. Stay
optimistic.” To those who have
everything they need, he says,
“Be nice to everyone.” You
never know what people are
going through.
