idea and there was a squeak of enthusiasm and applause. Then an old mouse, who had
been silent for a long time, stood up and said, "Your idea is excellent and I'm sure it will

THE TRAVELING PEN
It was, at least in appearance, a pen just like all the others. With permanent ink, one
must add. The colour was blue and the barrel silver. What set it apart from all the other
pens was something so simple yet unusual, even hard to explain. It liked to travel.
That's how I started telling the story of this pen to André and he immediately asked me:
-But how can a pen travel if it doesn't have legs,
wings or wheels?"-But how can a pen travel if it
doesn't have legs, wings or wheels?"-It was,
indeed, a good question to which I confess I have
difficulty finding an answer.
But what is certain is that the pen in this story had
the habit of traveling farther than people who like
to travel usually do.
-But how?" interrupted André and I explained.
-Posted between the fingers of a storyteller who
had the habit of creating exotic environments for his characters. It jumped off the paper
and flew to the most distant places mentioned in the narrative.
And it only returned after it had scoured everything around it.Honestly, I don't know
how it managed to do that. What is certain, as certain as I am here talking about it, is
that it managed the feat of moving to the most distant and fantastic places, be they
aerial, countries or continents.
