In the first column of the table below, list down your most striking encounters with arts.
On the second column, explain why you think each encounter is an experience with art.

My encounters with Arts Why?

One of my most striking encounters with arts
is when I was in Junior High School when I
made an artwork that was made of coffee
powder and rice. During that time, it
happened that I was chosen to be a
representative of the class, but I have no
materials to be used, so I looked at the things
around me until I saw coffee powder and
rice. Even I was nervous because I do not
know what the result of my artwork might
be, I still continued to do it. At last, I won the
contest.
My very first striking with arts is when I was
in the kindergarten. I remember that I always
drew a colorful artwork, and my teachers put
it on the wall of the classroom.
An artwork is not just about how expensive
your materials are, but it was about how
resourceful and creative you are. And the
most important thing is that you love and
have a passion towards your artwork to be
able for it to be called as a work of art and an
artwork of yours.
I was the only one in the class who could
drew well. My teacher always asked me draw
in the blackboard. Every time I draw, my
classmates are being crowd around me and
sometimes they asked me if they could have
it.
Activity 2

and have been required in junior high school and considered universal.

ARTIST WORKS OF ART

1. FERNANDO AMORSOLO – labelled the
country’s first National Artist in 1972 by
then President Marcos, he is often known as
the “Grand Old Man of Philippine Art”.
Amorsolo’s creativity defines the nation’s
culture and heritage to this day.
2. JOSE JOYA – a Filipino pioneer of Abstract The two famous artworks of Jose Joya are
expressionism, multi-media painter who
uses bold and vibrant colors with a variety
of painting techniques, layering, loose
impasto strokes and controlled drips.
3. ANG KIUKOK – he was a Filipino painter of Ang Kiuko has 296 total of artworks. Some of
Chinese descent and was a National Artist
for Visual Arts. He was renowned Filipino
Expressionist whose colorful and striking
paintings portrayed a variety of cubist-like Geometric Landscape (1969), Seated Figure
figures.

Amorsolo are Babaeng Nagbabasa,
Afternoon Meal of the Workers (1939),
Assassination of Governor Bustamante,
Bataan, The Bombing of the Interdencia
(1942), The Building of Intramuros, Burning
of the Idol, The Burning of Manila (1946), El
Ciego (1928), The Conversion of the Filpinos
(1931), Corner of Hell, Dalagang Bukid
(1936), Defense of a Filipina Woman’s Honor
(1945), Lavandera (1960), Sunset Over the
Stream (1921), Early Filipino State Wedding,
The Explosion (1944), Planting Rice, Sale of
Panay, Princess Urduja, and Fruit Gatherer
(1950).
Beethoven Listening to the Blues, and Space
Transfiguration, while some of his major
works are Ang Tutubi (1967), Cityscape
(1972), Warm Afternoon (1974), Spirit of
Season (1992), Barter of Panay (1948), Christ
Stripped of His Clothes (1954), Granadean
Arabesque (1958), Dimensions of Fear
(1965), Vista Beyond Recognition (198),
Torogan (1985), and Playground of the Mind
(1998). Many of his paintings were allegories
of human nature and the life cycle.
his famous artworks are Mother Embracing
her Infant, Grisly Crucufixions, Tables Holding
an Array of Fish and Fruit, Stray Dogs,
(1979), Thinking Man (1979), Cockerel
(1976), and Pieta (which won for him the
bronze medal in the 1st International Art
Exhibition on 1962).
