Heartbeat Opera returns with our annual drag

extravaganza! Combining the mediums of opera
and drag to create a special show celebrating
queerness, joy, love, and radical acceptance of
our weirdness!

This year, Heartbeat Opera presents The Golden Cock, our

version of Nikolai Rimsky-Krosikov's fairy tale opera, The
Golden Cockerel. We are using our drag activism to take aim
at the current Russian war and skewer dictators
everywhere, while venturing to far-off Queendoms, with
glam-tastic Tsars, frisky fables, and a dacha full of divas.

Heartbeat is asking you to be a part of the festivities and
complete our show with a feast for our patrons palettes. No
Russian club is complete without some high quality, free
flowing vodka. We are asking you to bring our radically
queer and unapologetically bold club to life with the gift of
your vodka!

The Golden Cock opens its doors for three shows from
November 9-November 10, 2023 with approximately 200
patrons per show. We are asking for 3 crates of vodka per
show to ensure thedrinks flow freely for our patrons.

ABOUT HEARTBEAT
Dubbed “flat-out brilliant” by The New York Times and “a
radical endeavor” by Alex Ross in The New Yorker—
Heartbeat Opera is intent upon reimagining opera in
intimate spaces for a new generation of artists and
audiences. Employing a minimalism that allows the
emotional integrity of the music to shine through, the
company grows vivid theatrical worlds through revelatory
adaptations, radical arrangements, and ingenious design.
