It's GIGANTIC!

Let me say this again. It's HUGE! Clownishly so, and I have big hands. Guess I didn't read the size
description. You should. Does a good job, but no better than a cheaper Chinee version. As to longevity, only
time will tell. It's so stupidly big, I cant use it on the majority of the micro circuit boards I work on. The tip is
the same size as other suckers, but the body wont allow you to get into small areas. If your looking for a
precise sucker in a compact size, this ain't it sister. This is great for larger work areas, and 12 gauge wire,
etc, not small electronics. Seems well made. Easy to clean. Nothing wrong with the unit besides its large
size.

I've owned De-soldering stations and all types of solder suckers. I have known of the company Edsyn but
never knew they were the original makers of these types of solder suckers. I always bought the cheap
Chinese knockoffs and they are hit or miss. I have had them break into pieces on the first suck and have
gotten ones that last a few months. The Chinese ones are wider then this Soldapullt, like they took a
casting of the original and couldn't be bothered to trim it down to size or have any originality of their own.
The Soldapullt is much thinner and feels so much better when pushing down the spring. The suction
compared to a brand new Chinese one, of which I have 4 is much better and the action all together is
smoother. The O-Ring is creating a proper seal while the knockoff is all loosey-goosey. One thing that can
be said for the knockoff is it comes with extra tips which this one does not. But I still won't be going back
to the Chinese as the tip on the Soldapullt is a better harder plastic and you can tell it will last longer.

Amazing suction

This solder sucker is amazing. It has an amazing amount of suction, which works very well to suck up
molten solder from joints one is trying to unsolder. I used to have an old radio-shack style metal cylinder
sucker that I can no longer locate. So I went ahead and bought this one after reading through some of the
reviews online. The reviews did not lie, this is a very good solder sucker with lots of suction. Compared to
the old RS unit it is like night and day. If you are still using a sucker with weak suction, you would be well
suited to go ahead and buy one of these, as the difference is well worth the price of this unit.
Edit: I've now had the opportunity to use the Soldapullt several times to desolder components for
diagnostics/repair, and it does an absolutely amazing job of removing the solder. Heat the joint with an
iron, put the tip against the joint and press the release button, and all the molten solder is sucked away. It
is so effective that I've actually had a couple components simply fall out under their own weight when
sucking the solder off the last joint. This tool is highly recommended and **well worth** the price. You will
not be disappointed in how well the tool accomplishes its job.

Spend a bit more now and get a good tool. You will not regret it

Novice electronics repair guy here (pinballs!), so I bought some of the smaller cheaper solder suckers from
Amazon and they actually worked well, for a very short period. The recoil on the cheap ones pulls the tools
apart in short order. This Edsyn is build to last. It will not pull apart during use. It also has very powerful
suction. Spend a bit more now and get a good tool. You will not regret it. If you are not familiar with the
size of the Edsyn it will surprise you. 13" overall length, with the suction barrel being 7.5" from tip to top of
release button and 1.125" diameter.

There are times that this doesn't work perfectly since it is quite long and larger diameter than the
traditional aluminum ones. It doesn't fit everywhere. I like the small aluminum ones for some things, but
always miss the power of the larger one. I also like that I can cock one handed on the table or on my leg.
As an FYI, It is really hard to write a review about a solder sucker without sounding pervy.

I bought this a few weeks ago to help with solder removal on a few small thru-hole electronics projects I'm
working on. Frankly I wasn't sure what to expect since reviews seem to be all over the place. However, I'm
delighted to report that this thing works great. In fact, it works better than some of the better solder wick
I've been using. Yes, the thing is large, but I've had no problem getting the tip close enough to the
component to remove all of the solder in just one 'suck'. Some have griped about the size of the tip. Yes, it
is large, but this thing generates so much suction that you don't need to get it right on the component or
solder 'blob' - close is often good enough. Highly recommended!
