I. Definition of Terms
“…They shall mount up [soar] with wings like eagles.”

Mount up [H5927] = in Hebrew word, “’alah” (pronounced as, “aw-law”)

- Meaning: to ascend intransitively (be high) or active (mount);
- Arise up, cause to ascend up, to get up on something above the level of the
ground

Wings [H83] = in Hebrew word, “eber” (pronounced as, “ay-ber”)

- Meaning: pinion: long wing(-ed)

Eagles [H5404] = in Hebrew word, “nesher” (pronounced as “neh-sher”)

- From an unused root meaning to lacerate; the eagle (other large bird of prey).
- The Bible often uses the symbol of an eagle to portray strength, power, vision,
and even destruction. It also symbolizes heavenliness, mystery and divinity.
The Biblical analogies using eagles should inspire us to righteous living and

strengthen our walk with
SacredGod.
Assembly – Shabbat 5782

To “mount up with wings like eagles” signifies deep spiritual experiences.

II. What does an eagle represent in the Bible?
1. Eagle as a sign of strength (Isaiah 40:31)

2. Eagles as God’s rod against Israel and Judah (Jeremiah 4:13;

Deuteronomy 28:49; Lamentation 4:19; Habakkuk 1:8)

3. Eagles as God’s rod against the nations (Jeremiah 49:22; Obadiah 1:4)

2

4. Eagle as God’s protection (Daniel 2:20-21; Daniel 5:18-21, Proverbs 8:15-16,
Romans 13:1-2)

III. Characteristics of an EAGLE

1. Eagles have a very sharp and powerful vision.

The eyes of an eagle are specially designed for long-distance focus with
clarity. Eagles have a highly developed sense of sight which allows them to
easily spot prey. Eagles have excellent 20/5 vision compared to an average
human who only has 20/20 vision which enables them to focus on something
as far as 5 kilometers away. They can even see animals that are hiding in
camouflage even from a distance. Their eyes can take up around 50% of its
head. The eagle's eye is one of the strongest in the entire animal kingdom
(four to eight times stronger than that of the average human). The most
noteworthy features of eagles' eyes are color vision, high resolution, and
clarity.

Another very fascinating quality that eagles have is that they have three sets
of eyelids which protect their extremely keen sight. One set is used while
stationary and the instant it’s airborne the second set eyelids or translucent
membranes drop to cover its powerful eyes. The inner or third eyelid is not
visible from the outside. This nictitating membrane is thin and translucent,
and acts like a windshield wiper, sweeping across the bird's eye from side to
side. This keeps debris from being lodged in the sensitive tissue. It
automatically slides across the eye every three to four seconds, according to
the Bald Eagle Information website. This action sweeps away any accumulated
dust or dirt. Yet its see-through properties allow the eagle to maintain its
visual acuity. The eagles have two eyesight which is both sideways and other
a binocular vision.Kingdom

square with great accuracy. They have
ability to see movement of tiny mouse about 10,000 feet. They have an ability
Sacred Assembly – Shabbat 5782
to observe storms and dangers afar off, two to observe prey and food.

This represents the vision and discernment in the life of an eagle Christian. As
an eagle Christian, you should have physical eyesight and spiritual eyesight.
Just as the eagles can see far distances, we as believers must develop clear
eyesight to see beyond what we see in the natural and be able to discern
what is coming. God will grant you accurate and a pinhole precision in this
season for discernment.

The question is, what are we focusing on? Remember: what we focus on, we
magnify. What consumes your mind controls your life.

When you’re focused on God, you will not focus on anything else.
Do not allow yourself to be distracted nor get sidetracked by your
circumstances and by the things of this world.

(Read Matthew 15:8; Philippians 3:13-14;  Colossians 3:1; Jonah 2:7)

2. Eagles are fearless.

Eagles do not fear storms and will never surrender to its prey, no matter its
strength or size. It will always put up a fight to win its prey or regain its
territory.

Eagles are not afraid of the storm, in fact, they love storms. They have large
wings that can carry them higher than the storm and can withstand the strong
winds. They can easily sense a storm is coming.

Watch an eagle when a storm comes. When other birds try to flee from the
storm with fear and hide its fierceness, an eagle spreads its mighty wings and
uses the current/wind of the storm to soar to greater heights in a matter of
seconds. This gives the eagle the opportunity to glide and rest its wings. The
eagle takes advantage of the very storm that lesser birds fear and head for
cover.

(Read Deuteronomy 3:22; 1 Samuel 17:37)

A soldier of Christ never retreats and never surrender. Like an eagle, we must
be courageous and strong in the LORD and in the power of His might. A
Christian who waits on God will be so fearless that he cannot be easily
intimidated by any challenges. Most of the time, challenges are opportunities
turned upside down. What the enemies meant for harm, God meant it for
Kingdom Forwarders Ministries International
good. He who waits on theAssembly
Sacred Lord –uses
Shabbatchallenges
5782 of life to soar to greater
heights.

3. Eagles are tenacious.

Tenacious means “tending to keep a firm hold of something”; defined as
“persistent determination”. It also means, “does not stop holding something
or give up something easily”.

They have large toes that gave eagles the name “raptor”, which comes from a
Latin word "rapere" meaning “to grip or grasp”.

Eagles don’t easily give up during hunting. It fights until it has overpowered
its prey. Eagles use a tactical approach to hunt. They rarely do battle with
snakes on the ground. To keep them safe, eagles attack from the air. Here are
two ways by which an eagle captures a snake: (1) Clutch the snake and fly. (2)
Clutch the snake on the ground and crush it.

Since snakes cannot see above them, they have no idea that an eagle is
coming to snatch them. From above, eagles will also swoop a snake in the
sea. When a sea snake goes up to the surface to breathe, its head protrudes
above the water. What an eagle does is grasp the head and part of the body
with its talons. The rest of the body of the snake dangles in mid-air. Since the
snake is not grounded, it has no leverage to bite or strike. This attack is called
the snatch-and-grab. On the ground, an eagle has the reflexes to avoid a
snake’s strike. In a face-off, the approach of the eagle is to use its talons to
subdue a snake. Once this happens, the fight is over.

A Christian who waits on the Lord will never give up until he has overcome.
He persists in trusting God no matter the situation. He who waits on the Lord
will become very tenacious like eagles by trusting the Lord to the end.

4. Eagles are Master Fliers.

They are considered as the king of the air. Why? Because they are known for
their strength and flying ability at high altitudes. Eagles fly where there cannot
be any other bird.

An eagle doesn't mingle around with the pigeons. Pigeons scavenge on the
ground and grumble and complain all day long. Eagles are not. They fly and
make less noise waiting for opportunities to strike their next prey or glide
with the current ofKingdom
the storm.
Forwarders Ministries International
Sacred Assembly – Shabbat 5782

They don’t fly with other birds, but with eagles only. (Read Psalm 1:1)

As a result of being able to learn how to fly on those strong wind thermals,
eagles are considered master fliers. They can fly to heights that no other bird
can. They have been seen flying as high as some of our airplanes fly.

If eagles have to be careful not to expend too much energy in flapping their
wings because of their size and weight, then how can they fly as high as some
our modern-day airplanes? The answer is in their ability and skill to ride and
fly on these strong wind thermals.

5
October 23, 2021
Christine Joy Marto
This is why you see eagles literally soaring at times on these wind thermals,
with their wings being spread straight out and no flapping being done.

In the same way, we as Christians can learn how to be master fliers by

learning how to be led by the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.

Just like eagles depend on these strong wind thermals to take them to
heights that no other bird can fly to – in the same way we can be taken to
heights that we may have never dreamed possible if we will just learn how to
be led be the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.

Just think how much more good fruit we could produce, and how much more
we could accomplish for the Lord in this lifetime if we could all learn how to
be really led by the Holy Spirit on a daily basis, and how to really walk with
His power and anointing flowing through us.

Again, this is something that can be learned if you are open and willing to be
taught by the Lord on how to do this on a daily basis. It is the job of the Holy
Spirit Himself to teach you how to be personally led and empowered by Him
so you can fully accomplish everything that the Lord has set out for you to do
for Him in this life.

5. Eagles are Master Fishermen.

Eagles are also considered master fisherman. They are very good in locking in
on their prey and then swooping down to catch them.

How many times have you seen videos where an eagle will swoop down on a
body of water and pick up a fish swimming near the surface with perfect ease
and accuracy, and catching them on the very first attempt? They are absolute
Kingdom Forwarders Ministries International
masters at hunting down and
Sacred catching
Assembly – Shabbattheir
5782 prey, whether that prey be on
land or in the water.

Just as eagles are considered to be master fisherman with how they can catch
fish in water – we, as Christians, have been called by the Lord to be “fishers of
men,” just like Jesus and the apostles were at the very beginning of the New
Testament.

Personal evangelism within our own circle of influence is something that each
and every Christian can do for the Lord. (Read Matthew 28:26-30) And it is
something that we should always keep our radars up for – as you never know
when the Holy Spirit will move and work through you to lead you to someone

6

Christine Joy Marto
He wants you to witness to, whether it be someone you might know or a
complete total stranger.

6. Eagles never eat dead meat.

In other words, an eagle does not scavenge. They feed only on fresh prey.
Vultures eat dead animals, but eagles will not.

In the Old Testament, Prophet Moses understood not to eat leftovers and dead
things. He ate fresh manna and nourished himself on the fresh food that God
shared with him.

(Read Exodus 16:1-36)

As Christians, we must desire to receive “fresh manna” from the LORD

everyday by meditating the Scriptures and spending our quality time with the
LORD.

7. Eagles are faithful for life.

An eagle tests before it trusts. When a female eagle meets a male and they
want to mate, she first tests his commitment. Once an eagle finds and mate
with their partners, they will stay true and loyal to that other eagle for life.

As a person who is married is called to be faithful with his/her spouse, the

LORD also calls us to be faithful in Him alone and not on any idols. The LORD
hates idolatry and adultery. That is why we, as Christians, must also remain
faithful to the LORD until the end.

8. The nests of an eagle are built in wilderness.

When baby eagles are first born, the mother eagle will build the nest in which
to raise up her newborns in the wilderness, away from mainstream society.
This is done so she can safely raise them up without any type of harm coming
to them.

In the same way, the Lord will sometimes build up His eagles in a wilderness
type setting. Again, Moses was in the backside of the desert for 40 years
before God called him out to complete the greatest deliverance mission of all
time.

7

David was in the caves of the wilderness for a number of years, possibly for
13-15 years, before he was called out by God to become the greatest king
that Israel has ever had.

Some of you may be in your wilderness setting with the Lord, where He is
gradually raising you up in your calling for Him. It is in these wilderness type
settings that your greatest strides in spiritual growth are actually made in
Him.

(Read Exodus 16:1-3; Matthew 4:1-25)

9. Eagles prepare for training.

The mother removes the feathers and the soft grass in the nest so that the
young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually they
fly when it becomes too unbearable to stay in the nest.
There is no growth in our comfort zone for the Bible says that, “Woe to them
that are at ease in Zion” (Amos 6: 1). When the Lord calls us to go, we should
go. The Lord told the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 2:2-3, that they have
compassed this mountain too long a time and they should look northward for
help to move forward. A journey of forty days took them 40 years due to their
Kingdom Forwarders Ministries International
unbelief and abysmal Sacred
ignorance
Assembly (Num.
– Shabbat 14:
5782 34). Don’t be complacent.

10. Eagles nurture their young.

Believe this or not. Eagles are known for their aggression. They are absolutely
ferocious, aren't they? Anyone who doesn't have a total knowledge of this
great bird will say yes. What is more astonishing with this bird is their ability
to nurture their young ones. The parents carry prey to the nest to feed their
young. They feed their chicks by tearing off pieces of food and holding them
to the beaks of the eaglets. Research has shown that no member of the bird
family is more gentle and more attentive to its young ones than the eagles.

This is how it happens. When the mother eagle sees that time has come for it
to teach the eaglets to fly, she gathers an eaglet onto her back, and spreading
her wings, flies high. Suddenly she swoops out from under the eaglet and
allows it to fall. As it falls, it gradually learns what its wings are for until the
mother catches it once again. The process is repeated. If the young eagle is
slow to learn or cowardly, the mother eagle returns her young eagle to the
nest, and begins to tear it apart, until there is nothing left for the eaglet to
cling to. Then she nudges him off the cliff.

(Read Deuteronomy 32:11; Proverbs 22:6; Proverbs 29:17; 1 Peter 2:2-3 TPT)

11. Eagles go through transitions in life.
“Plumage” refers both to the layer of feathers that cover a bird and the
pattern, color, and arrangement of those feathers.

In their five-year development to adulthood, bald eagles go through one of

the most varied plumage changes of any North American bird. During its first
four weeks of life, an eaglet's fluffy white down changes to a gray wooly
down. At about five weeks, brown and black feathers begin to grow. It
becomes fully feathered at 10 weeks of age. In its first year, the mostly dark-
colored juvenile can often be mistaken as a golden eagle. However, the bald
eagle progressively changes until it reaches adult plumage at five years.
Notice in the pictures how its dark eye lightens throughout its first four years
of life until it becomes yellow. Also, see how its beak changes form gray-black
to a vibrant yellow. It is believed that the darker, more mottled plumage of a
young eagle serves as camouflage, while the white head and tail announce
that it is of breeding age. (Source: Southwestern Bald Eagle Management
Committee page)

Meaning, we occasionally need to shed off (dismantle) and let go of old

habits and wrong mindset no matter how difficult it is which burden us or add
no value to our lives. Just like eagles, we have to go through different stages
in life (from glory to glory). The Lord provides renewal for us, His children, as
we are maturing in our faith, which allows us to grow in the grace and
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and be transformed into the His image.
(Read 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 3:18)

IV. What can we learn from these mighty eagles?

1. Proper positioning and having a heavenly perspective help us to hear God
clearly and see what the Father is doing.

courageous, never give up! Be strong in the LORD always.

4. Your wilderness is a preparation and training for you to step up to what the
LORD has called you to do in order to fulfill the destiny He has placed in your
life for His glory.

The Exodus of Israelites:
Exodus 12:31-42 NKJV
31
Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my
people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the LORD as you have said. 32 Also
take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.”

33
And the Egyptians urged the people, that they might send them out of the land in
haste. For they said, “We shall all be dead.” 34 So the people took their dough before it was
leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their clothes on their shoulders. 35 Now
the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from
the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing. 36 And the LORD had given the
people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they
requested. Thus, they plundered the Egyptians.

37
Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred
thousand men on foot, besides children. 38 A mixed multitude went up with them also, and
flocks and herds—a great deal of livestock. 39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the
dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they
were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for
themselves.

40
Now the [i]sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in [j]Egypt was four hundred and thirty
years. 41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years—on that very
same day—it came to pass that all the armies of the LORD went out from the land of
Egypt. 42 It is a night of solemn observance to the LORD for bringing them out of the
land of Egypt. This is that night of the LORD, a solemn observance for all the children
of Israel throughout their generations.

The Comfort of Christ’s Coming:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NKJV
13
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen [b]asleep,
lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose
again, even so God will bring with Him those who [c]sleep in Jesus.

15
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the
coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are [d]asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself

will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet
of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall
always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

VI. Summary

Ascending [to come up higher as we wait on the LORD] is a tool that God has
given to help us bring the things of the Kingdom of Heaven here to earth. This
includes the divine wisdom of the Lord that can enable us to solve any problem.

The Bible makes it clear that just like eagles, some men of God ascended into
Heaven, and they didn’t do it for just a thrill ride. Every time someone went up,
they had an encounter with God or they received revelation.

In the Kingdom of Heaven, there are deep mysteries. Scripture is full of layers. As
we dig into them, the Holy Spirit will reveal to us heavenly things that we could
not fathom before. As we search through Scripture, we see that many men in the
Bible ascended into their homeland of Heaven.

In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John had this experience. When Apostle
John went up, he received the Lord Jesus’s instructions and messages to give to
the seven churches. Plus, he received the download for the whole Book of
Revelation. Also, when Prophet Moses and the elders went up, they got to see
the Lord. They got to encounter God, and eat and drink with Him (Exodus 24:9-
11). In 2 Corinthians 12:1-4, when the man whom Apostle Paul was speaking
Kingdom Forwarders Ministries International
about went up, he heard Sacred
utterances
Assembly –that were
Shabbat 5782 too powerful to put into words,
revelation that humankind was not permitted to speak.

WARNING: However, let us be careful, beloved. The higher we ascend and the
more knowledge and revelations the Lord is revealing unto us, the more our
hearts should stay in humility. (Read 2 Corinthians 12:5-6 TPT) Never dare to exalt
anyone especially your own self. Apart from God, we can do nothing. It is only by
His grace – by His blood and the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross that
we are able (or will be able) to experience all these things and unlock the
mysteries of the Kingdom of God. (Read Matthew 13:11-17)

VII. Conclusion
Waiting on the Lord renews the strength of a Christian to enable him soar high
like an eagle. As we continue to wait upon the LORD and put our hope and trust
in Him completely, rest assured that He will help us to mount up/soar with wings

like eagles, soaring high above every storm [trials, challenges, battles in life]
without any fear nor reservations. Hence, we will be able to continue to move
forward and ascend [come up higher] towards Mount Zion, where the LORD Most
High dwells.

“Therefore, we  do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is
perishing, yet the inward  man  is  being renewed day by day.”
(2 Corinthians 4:16 NKJV)

"Wait for the Lord;

Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord."

To God be all the glory!
