Physical

Nigeria is located in the north east part of Africa .


Nigeria’s geographical features include Adamawa highlands , Mambilla
Plateau , Jos Plateau , Obudu Plateau , the Niger River , River Benue.
Nigeria is found in the tropics.
Nigeria has an Area of 923,768 km2.
Nigeria’s coordinates are 9.0820 degrees N , 8.6753 degrees E.
Nigeria has a tropical climate with variable rainy and dry seasons depending
on location.
A Savanna climate , with marked wet and dry seasons , prevails in the north
and west.
A Steppe climate with a little precipitation is found in the far north.
Nigeria experiences the Dry season and the Rainy season.
Nigeria is covered by three types of vegetation: forests ( where there is
significant tree cover) Savannas (significant tree cover , with grasses and
flowers located between trees) , and montane land.
Nigeria’s natural resources are Petroleum , Natural gas , tin , Iron ore , coal ,
Limestone , Niobium , Lead , Zinc and arable land.

Cultural

The culture of Nigeria is shaped by Nigeria’s multiple ethnic groups.


Nigeria has 527 languages, seven of them are extinct. Nigeria also has over
1150 dialects and ethnic groups.
However , Nigeria has three major ethnic groups , namely , Yoruba , Hausa-
Fulani , and Igbo.
Nigeria’s culture is multi-ethnic.
Nigeria’s main religion is Islam.
According to a 2019 report from the world Factbook by CIA , Muslim 51.6% ,
Christian 46.9% , and 9% unspecified.
Tolerance in people for each others’ religions is very low in Nigeria this has
also led to national insecurity of the country.
So overall Nigeria is a Muslim country.

Political

Muhammadu Buhari is the current president of Nigeria he is president since


2015.
Nigeria’s current political system is democratic.
But Nigeria’s democracy is threatened by political competition and
communal , ethnic , religious or resource allocation Rivalries-Poses a major
threat to Nigeria’s democracy.
Nigeria’s relationship was good with Israel.
Nigeria broke formal ties from Israel in 1973 in protest against Israel’s
occupation of Sinai territory once belonging to Egypt.
Nigeria has a dispute with Libya because it’s president said that Nigeria
should be divided in two halves a Christian one and a Muslim one.
There is separatism in Nigeria because of culture and religion.
Nigeria and Cameroon have disputed the possession of Bakassi for some
years.
Boki another place in Nigeria where there was war over culture and religion
in 2010.
Economy

Nigeria’s economy is ranked the 26 th-largest economy in the world in terms


of nominal GDP and 24th-largest in terms of purchasing power parity.
Nigeria’s currency is named as Nigerian naira.
Nigeria is also known as the richest country in Africa.
Nigeria’s GDP is 448.1 billion USD (2019).
Nigeria’s economy mostly depends on Petroleum exports.
So in the light of all theese facts we can see that Nigeria has a strong
Economy.
