● Take up 4-5 points / statements from the article for evaluation

● Build on and engage with the selected points rather than using them as a
supporting evidence for your perspective.

● Focus on what the article is saying rather than how it is saying. Avoid
review like comments or stylistic analysis of the way the article is
written.

● Have an optimum mix of logos, pathos and ethos.

● Include verified and sourced secondary research and statistical data


WHAT RTT SHOULD NOT DO:
● Quote more than one line or a chunky paragraph from the article for
evaluation.

● Echo / extend the same ideas of the article without your personal
justification or engagement.

● Comment on the way the author writes.

● Use personal attacks and reactive counters to invalidate the writer’s


opinion and statements.

● Include unverified or random data without stating the source.
