Types of earthing Systems

There are 5 main types of earthing systems:
1. TT
2. TI
3. TN
4. TN-C
5. TN-S
The earthing system used in Grenada is:

- TT

When installing earthing systems in rocky areas, and rocky soil a drill is used to drill 6-9 inches into the
earth, and excavate the stones and soil from the hole. The earthing rod is then placed at the centre of the
hole and the hole is filled with a mixture of black muddy soil and water.
Underground Installation
undergrounding is the replacement of overhead cables providing electrical power or telecommunications,
with underground cables. This removes environmental hazards and other risks, such as during storms.
This makes wires safer, and improves appearance.
