Carpenters use a variety of tools to carry out their job. These tools include hand tools such as
hammers, screwdrivers, saws, levels, and measuring tapes, as well as power tools such as cordless drills,
circular saws, and nail guns. They also use specialized tools for specific tasks such as chisels for carving
wood, and routers for shaping and smoothing wood. Carpenters also use large equipment such as
scaffolding and cranes to assist in the building process. In addition to these tools, carpenters also use
safety equipment such as hard hats, goggles, and steel-toed boots to protect themselves while on the
job. They also use protective gear such as earplugs and dust masks to protect against the noise and dust
generated by the tools they use. Carpenters must be skilled in using all of these tools and equipment,
and must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and building plans. They must also have a good
understanding of building codes and regulations. Despite the importance of the carpenter's role in the
building process, they are often undervalued and underappreciated. However, without the skills and
expertise of a carpenter, a building would not be able to stand. They are the ones who bring the
architectural plans to life and make the construction process possible. Their job is essential and
challenging, and requires a high level of skill and knowledge to do it properly.

The carpenter is the main builder, having one of the most important roles. His job is so
foundational that, you cannot build any structure without him. My father was a carpenter at a point in
time, so there might be a little bias, however the carpenter is truly under appreciated for what they are.
As to why I chose this worker, is that I saw first hand the importance of a carpenter, many times in the
first person. My father was never not busy, always at work, for his work was ever needed. After
Hurricane Ivan struck Grenada, it brought with it a path of destruction and as such, we had to rebuild.
My father was the fore front of building, being the eldest carpenter, and having much skill. This was my
source of inspiration and why I chose this worker.
