AIR FLOW-RATE MANAGEMENT
The air throw specified in the tables must be considered a maximum value only, as it may vary significantly depend-
ing on the size of the room where the appliance is installed, and the arrangement of the furniture in the room. Use-
ful air throw L refers to the distance between the appliance and the point where the air speed is 0.2 m/sec; if the
louvre is at a 30° angle (recommended in cooling mode), the so-called “Coanda” effect occurs, as illustrated in the
first diagram, while at a 45° angle (recommended in heating mode), air flow is downwards, as illustrated in the sec-
ond diagram.
NOTE: For sizing in heating mode, pay special attention to buildings where the floor temperature is very low (for
example, below 5°C); in these situations, the floor may cool the air above it down to low temperatures that counter-
act the uniform distribution of warm air leaving the appliance, thus reducing the delivery value shown in the table.

MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
Procedure
The procedure for installing the fan coil is as follows:
a-CXW 0802-1102-1202 / 0804-1104-1204 • Mark the positions of the holes in the structural ceil-
i-CXW 0802-1102 / SK 0804-1104 ing at the two opposite sides of the opening made
in the false ceiling and then drill the holes for the
threaded bars (the dimensions are shown in the
drawings on the side).
• Fix the threaded bars to the ceiling.
The length of the bars depends on the space
between the false ceiling and the structural ceiling.

Air outlets
a-CXW 0402-0502-0602-0702 / 0404-0504-0604-0704
• The fan coil is equipped with air supply outlets for
i-CXW 0502-0602-0702 / 0504-0604-0704
connection to separate distribution ducts.
• The air flow and pressure at each outlet, however,
depend on the number of air outlets used.
• The dimensions and location of these outlets are
shown in the drawings.
• The graphs to the side indicate the air flow-rate
through the outlets as a function of the pressure
drop in the air distribution duct, with the fan at maxi-
mum speed.
Important!
All of the air ducts leaving the fan coil unit must be
a-CXW 0802-1102-1202 / 0804-1104-1204 equipped with thermal insulation to prevent condensa-

WARNING!
• In summer and during extended periods with the
fan off, to avoid condensation on the outside of the
appliance, the coil fluid supply must be shut off.
• If the appliance is equipped with a valve, connect
the connection pipes to this valve.
• If the appliance is used for cooling, to prevent drip-
ping from condensation, insulate the pipes and the
valve.
