ABSTRACT
Logistics and supply chain management are integral components of modern
business operations, encompassing the planning, execution, and control of the
flow of goods, services, and information from suppliers to consumers. These
disciplines ensure the efficient movement of resources while optimizing costs
and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Logistics involves activities such as transportation, warehousing, inventory
management, and order fulfillment. It focuses on coordinating the physical
flow of products to meet demand, reduce lead times, and minimize costs. On
the other hand, supply chain management extends this scope by encompassing
strategic decisions related to sourcing, procurement, production, and
distribution network design.
Effective logistics and supply chain management strategies enable businesses
to respond swiftly to market changes, reduce excess inventory, and enhance
responsiveness to customer needs. Technological advancements, like real-time
tracking systems and data analytics, have revolutionized these fields, offering
greater visibility and control over operations.
In an increasingly interconnected global economy, logistics and supply chain
management play a critical role in maintaining competitiveness and
sustainability. Firms that master these disciplines can streamline operations,
mitigate risks, and create value by meeting consumer expectations with timely,
cost-effective, and reliable products and services.
