Pledge of Medical Information Use

I hereby pledge that I have read the medical code of ethics, provisions, and matters stipulated under the use of Seoul
National University Hospital’s medical information system and computerized system.

1. Medical Service Act, Article 23 (Electronic Medical Records), Paragraph 3: No one may leak, alter or destroy
any personal information stated in an electronic medical record without any justifiable reason.
2. Medical Service Act, Article 19 (Prohibition of Disclosure of Confidential Information): Except otherwise as
provided by this Act or other Acts and subordinate statutes, a medical person shall not divulge or disclose any
person’s confidential information he/she becomes aware of in the course of performing medical treatment,
assistance in childbirth, or nursing.
3. Personal Information Protection Act, Article 59 (Prohibited Actions) : People who deal with personal
information must not reveal it and let other people use it without authority.
4. I’m only authorized to access and use the hospital’s computers, systems, network, and other information
source within my competence by agreed purpose and use.
5. Person who owns the right to use the hospital’s computers, information, network, and other resources shall
have responsibility and use them in an ethical way.
6. One shall control oneself the use of internet while the medical information system is being operated,
especially when it is not being used for business purposes. Internet is also prohibited when one is providing
service to patients. In other words, one must prevent himself/herself from providing unsatisfactory service to
all customers, in or out of the hospital, when using internet other than for business purposes.
7. All information, account, and/or network shall only be used for business-related purposes. The information
learned should not be disclosed to anyone during working and after leaving employment
8. Authorized user, who is fully liable for his/her account, shall take care of his/her password and other security
matters so that it will not be abused by an unauthorized user.
9. A copyrighted software shall not be duplicated to (from) the hospital computers. The software shall not also
be used in the hospital’s computers without any contract for the right of software use.
10. You must deal with electronic equipment (computation equipment) carefully and take responsibility for
damage or loss of them.
11. If one suspects that any computer connected to a network is having problems with security, he/she must
immediately notify Information/System Security Team (T.4084) or System Team of Data Processing
Department (T.2745).
