Exercise: Analyze and Improve an Existing Interface

Objective: To analyze an existing user interface, identify HCI principles, and suggest
improvements to make it more user-friendly.

1. Select a website below and explore the interface. Take notes on how it aligns
with the principles of HCI.

2. Identify specific instances where principles like visibility, feedback,

consistency, affordance, etc., are evident or lacking.

3. Conduct usability testing (or observe how users interact) with a small group of
users (family members, friends) to gather feedback on interface.

4. After analyzing the interface, brainstorm ways to improve it based on HCI

principles.

5. Think creatively and suggest changes that would enhance user-friendliness

and overall usability.

This exercise provides a hands-on approach to apply the principles of HCI to a real-
world scenario. It encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity while
promoting a deeper understanding of user-centered design and usability
considerations.
