Activities that could require collaborative Remote Access

In developing a plan, one should also take into consideration the need for
the collaboration with multiple experts. This requirement is not unusual but
developing a plan that allows collaboration with different companies and to
different devices can get complex. Below are some points to provide more

Collaboration facilitates fast resolution of issues.

• Frequently have multiple people online with the same piece of

equipment at a time — either troubleshooting the same issues or
different issues.
• If a machine has several components from different suppliers and the
issue is not clear, then you need collaborative Remote Access.
• Auditing connected processes. If there are connected processes on the
input or output side of the equipment, then Remote Access to these
connected systems must be considered.
• In many cases troubleshooting requires collaboration between someone on
site who can identify something physically wrong and an engineer working
remotely to point them in the right direction. Occasionally you might need
to pull in a manufacturer’s representative if things get really strange.
