Base on what I understand, people exploit patterns in mathematics by studying the

pattern and structure of all kinds. Mathematics is not all about numbers, problem solving, and
calculations, mathematics also seeks to discover and explain abstract patterns that we see in our
daily lives and in nature. Like what Stewart wrote in his book, the nature's patterns are not just
there to be admired; they are vital clues to the rules that govern natural processes. By
understanding the data and clues that we gather, we can predict what comes next, estimate if
the same pattern will occur when variables are altered and begin to extend the pattern. These
patterns also help us analyze what is the situation and enlighten us on how these patterns works.
