1.2. Pharmacists are healthcare professionals who are experts in
the safe and effective use of medication. They are responsible
for providing medication therapy management (MTM) to
patients, which includes counselling patients on how to take
their medications, monitoring their medication use, and
detecting and resolving medication-related problems.
Pharmacists can work in a variety of settings, including
community pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, and government
agencies.
There are a number of future study opportunities available
to pharmacists. These include:

➢ Master of Science in Pharmacy (M.S.Pharm.): This degree


program provides advanced training in pharmacy practice,
research, and education.
➢ Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.): This degree program is the
terminal degree in pharmacy. It provides comprehensive
training in all aspects of pharmacy practice.
➢ Postdoctoral fellowships: These programs provide specialized
training in areas such as pharmacogenomics, clinical pharmacy,
and pharmacy administration.
➢ Continuing education: Pharmacists are required to complete
continuing education credits in order to maintain their
licenses. These credits can be earned through a variety of
activities, such as attending workshops, taking online courses,
and reading professional journals.
1.3. Actuarial science: University of Cape Town (UCT): UCT is one
of the top universities in South Africa and offers a Bachelor
of Actuarial Science (BAccSci) degree. The program is
accredited by the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA).

Interior design: Cape Peninsula University of Technology


(CPUT): CPUT offers a Bachelor of Technology (BTech)
degree in Interior Design. The program is accredited by the
South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and the
International Interior Design Association (IIDA). The program
takes 4 years to complete and includes courses in
architectural design, interior construction, and interior
decoration.

Pharmacist: University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN): UKZN's


Nelson R Mandela School of Pharmacy is one of the oldest
and most established pharmacy schools in South Africa. It
offers a 5-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
program.

4.2. My name is Ntoto Shikwambana; I was born and raised in


the small town of Giyani. I am schooling in Khanyisa Education
Centre. I take Physical sciences, Life sciences, Business studies,
Mathematics, English first additional language, Xitsonga home
language and Life Orientation as my subjects. I am a netball player
and part of the outreach committee.

Being able to accept and love myself the way I am. In 2022, I
won the proverto Mathematics competition and become the second
in South Africa.

I am good at playing netball, I won top player of the year 2 years


in a row. I have good leadership skills that is why am part of the
student council.

I turn to be shy a lot at first. I am working on being more


outgoing and on networking with others.
I sometimes procrastinate and I am working on setting deadlines
for myself and on breaking down large tasks into smaller, more
manageable ones.

As I said before I love and enjoy playing netball and I enjoy giving
back to others that is why am part of the outreach committee.

Creative: I have a unique way of looking at the world and I always


coming up with new ideas.
Responsible: I am a responsible person and I always follow through
on my commitments.
Kind: I am always willing to help others and I am always there for
my friends when they need me.

Pharmacists interact with patients on a daily basis, and they need


to be able to build rapport and communicate effectively. I enjoy
working with people and helping them to understand their
medication, then pharmacy may be a good career choice for me,
and I enjoyed my job shadow in the Shirinda Pharmacy.

The institution has a strong reputation for its pharmacy


program. University of Kwa-Zulu-Natal has a top-ranked pharmacy
program.

My mistake was letting other peoples' words get into me. It later
came into my attention that what I think about myself is what I
become and I started having positive thoughts about myself. I now
have the greatest confidence. I learnt that not everything that
people say I should take into consideration.

Introduction
