Auto Dual Mode Detailed

Auto Dual control provides efficient compressor operations where

some pressure swings are acceptable to the plant.

In Auto Dual mode the compressor controls operate the same as

constant pressure until the compressor throttles back to surge
control set point.

If demand falls below the throttled condition the controller will

unload the compressor.

If the plant requirements increase the compressor will reload to

supply air to the plant.

if the demand remains below this threshold for a set period of time
the compressor will unload, and the compressor state will be
displayed as A-D unload

In a two-compressor configuration the Auto Dual mode is to be

enabled on the lag machine only.

The lead and lag compressors should have the same pressure set
point.

If the lead compressor is offline the lag the Auto- Dual mode should
be deactivated on the lag machine until the lead machine is online.

GRAPHING SELECTIONS

The selections for page one through five are organized sequentially in rows. The top row has page one selections, and the
bottom row has page five selections.

Variables (< >) include all analog inputs as well as inlet valve and bypass valve. The number of variables will vary depending
on the compressor type and the options it has.

Duration is selectable from the following five times:

1) 10 minutes.
2) 30 minutes.
1) 60 minutes.
2) 12 hours.
3) 24 hours.

These times are fixed and cannot be changed.

MAINTENANCE STATUS OF
ALL ITEMS
Items (RO):
The four maintenance items are fixed. Items cannot be deleted and additional items cannot
be added. Each item has an individual page (pages 2-5).

Hours left before service (RO/ap) are displayed both digitally and graphically. As the
hours decrease, the boxes‘ fill colors are removed and just their outline remains. The
settings for when the boxes transition are fixed as follows:

1) First box on the right: Less than 75% of total hours remain.
2) Second box from right: < 60%
3) Third box: < 45%
4) Fourth box: < 30%
5) Yellow box: < 15%
The total number of hours has
6) Red box: elapsed.

The total hours for each item‘s maintenance interval are adjustable and resettable from
their individual pages (pages 2–5).

The wrench icon on the status bar will turn yellow wrench icon whenever hours left on any
one item is less than 30% of scheduled hours. The wrench will turn red whenever hours left
is less than 15%

The hours decrease as follows:

1) Air Filter:
2) Oil Items:

whenever compressor is running loaded.

whenever control power is on (oil is circulating).

COMMUNICATION ADDRESSES

Modbus Address (< >) is the address for both the Modbus RTU port and the Modbus TCP port on the DCU. Refer to page
91 for details concerning Modbus.

ASC Address (< >) is the address for the ASC port (COM1) on the FMM. ASC is short for Air System Controller which is
a PC based compressor control system.

IMMC Address (< >) is the address for the IMMC port (COM2) on the FMM. Refer to page 166 for details on IMMC.

PAGES 14 THRU 18 – WARNINGS AND
TRIPS SETTINGS

These pages configure the Warning and Trip levels for the analog signals. The factory default
numbers are found on the schematics.

Warning (<pw>) level at which the analog signal will cause a warning.

Trip (<pw>) level at which the analog signal will cause a trip.
