1. A sample of 150 students were chosen at random from all Grade 11 students in a private school in
Lavezares. The sample indicated that 75% of them were in favor of having an educational trip. Find
a) 95% and b) 99% confidence intervals for the proportion of all students who are in favor of having
an educational trip.

2. In a previous study done by a student, it was found out that 28.5% of the students used Twitter. This
year, your Statistics teacher wants you to conduct a study on the current percentage of Twitter
users among the students in your school. How many students must you include in your study to be
95% confident so that the margin od error is no more than 3.5 percentage?

3. In the following problems (a) state the null and alternative hypotheses (b) compute the test statistic
(c) determine the critical value and the rejection region, and (d) draw a conclusion.
It is claimed that the average monthly income of chemical engineers last year was P27,900.00. a
random sample of 35 chemical engineers is selected that it is found out that the average monthly
salary is P28,000.00. using a 0.01 level of significance, can it be concluded that there is an increase
in the average monthly income of chemical engineers? Assume that the population standard
deviation is P250.50

4. Compute and interpret the Pearson Product Correlation Coefficient.

the test and the scores they got on the test.

5. Luz is selling tomatoes in public market. She decided to change the price of her tomatoes every day
for seven days to see whether the change in the price of tomatoes would affect sales. Her collected
data are shown in the following table.
a. Determine the regression equation.
b. Predict the number of kilograms of tomatoes to be sold if the price of tomatoes will be lowered to
35 pesos per kilogram.
