Louvre 卢浮宫
The Musée du Louvre or simply the Louvre is one of the world's largest museums, the most
visited art museum in the world and a historic
monument. The museum is housed in the Louvre
Palace (Palais du Louvre) which began as a
fortress built in the late 12th century under Philip
II. The museum lies in the centre of Paris on the
Right Bank.
Under the main entrance to the museum is the Carrousel du Louvre, a shopping mall operated
by Unibail‐Rodamco. Among other stores, it has the first Apple Store in France, and a McDonald's
restaurant, the presence of which has created controversy.
