Introduction
Rakaposhi & Nanga parbat base camp trekking:
This short enriching and exciting trekking excursion is specially designed for those who can’t leave
their office for long and want to go and achieve something within a week time. To add more thrill to
this excursion and to make it more fulfilling for our guests we have come up with this trekking trail
of six days in which our clients will be able to do trekking to two of the most fascinating mountains
in Pakistan. Nanga Parbat(2nd tallest in Pakistan & the 9th tallest in the world) and Rakaposhi (7th
highest in Pakistan & 27th highest in the world).
Rakaposhi:
The Rakaposhi mountain, a 7,800-meter-high peak, is the highest mountain and, probably, the
most iconic from the Karakoram range which can be visible from the Karakoram Highway. It’s
located in the Nagar Valley, in the north of Pakistan, and in the local language it means” shiny wall”.
The Rakaposhi peak is the 27th highest mountain on Earth but considered to be one of the most
beautiful ones. Rakaposhi is notable for its exceptional rise over local terrain. On the north, it rises
5,900 metres (19,357 ft) in only an 11.2 km (7 mi) horizontal distance from the Hunza-Nagar River.
There are views of Rakaposhi from the Karakoram Highway on the route through Nagar. A tourist
spot in the town of Ghulmat (located in the Nagar Valley) called "Zero Point of Rakaposhi" is the
closest view point of the mountain.
Nanga Parbat is the ninth tallest mountain in the world, standing at 8,125 meters (26,657 feet), and
is the second tallest mountain in Pakistan, after K2.
Fairy Meadows:
Fairy Meadows, named by German climbers (German Märchenwiese, ″fairy tale meadows″) and
locally known as Joot, is a grassland near one of the base camp sites of the Nanga Parbat, located
in Diamer District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. At an altitude of about 3,300 meters above the sea
level, it serves as the launching point for trekkers summiting on the Rakhiot face of the Nanga
Parbat.
