As per initial report, on 12062023 at 1830 PST, due to heavy cloud
burst/ torrential rains, resulting flash flooding in almost all dry streams in the
western side of the Chitral River from Oroghoch to Balach. The following
partially house damages have been reported from Thingshen and
Moghlandeh:

due to cloud burst and torrential rains in the adjacent villages of Chitral
Town resulting the following incidents were reported:

3. Irrigation Channels (Heads of irrigation schemes in the Chitral Gol Nalla

In continuation of this office DSRs No. PDMA/PEOC/DSR/2023/JulM
2225 & PDMA/PEOC/DSR/2023/JulE2225 dated 22072023, On
22072023, torrential rain resulting flash flooding in streams, tributaries due
to which the river discharge has also been increased in Chitral River. There
is a very high flood in Chitral River and high erosion is reported along the
river. River water has overflown and entered nearby houses and damaged
the standing crops along the river course. On 25072023, a postdisaster
assessment was carried out in different mouzas, the detail report is as under:

As per initial report, on 07082023 at night , due to heavy rain with thunder
and lightning, there was flood in Drosh Gol Nala, Resultantly, damages to

In continuation of this office DSR No. PDMA/PEOC/DSR/2023/AugM
825 dated 08 August, 2023, on 06082023, due to heavy rain, flash flood
occurred in Drosh Gole. A post disaster assessment is carried out, the
follwoing damages are reported: Deputy Commissioner Office Chitral
NFIs and food items were provided to the affectees.

4. Crops = Maize and vegetable (8.625 Acres).
5.Orchards = Walnut Trees(6).
On 22072023, district was pounded by an exceptional and
unprecedented torrential/ orographic rain, which was followed by
thunderstorms, cloud outbursts and flash floods in the streams, inflicted
devastation. Post Disaster Assessment was carried out in the district, the
following more damages are reported:

On 16072023 at night, due to heavy rain, a flash flood occurred at Brep

Due to the ongoing wave of heat and heavy rain. On 20072023, numerous
Nullahs witnessed heavy flooding. As a consequence, several key roads in
the area have been blocked. Specifically, Mastuj Shandur Road and Mastuj
Yarkhun Road have been affected at various points, rendering them
impassable. This situation has led to a disruption in the road connectivity
between the districts headquarters and Yarkhun/ Boroghil and Laspur
valleys. The details of the damages are given below:
a. Power Yarkhun: Flood in river Yarkhun. Resultantly, 12 houses got

b. Shahidas: Flood in Shahidas Nullah. Resultantly, 1 Bridge which was
installed by Pak Army during Shandur Polo festival has been damaged.

c . Terich: Flood in Terich river. Resultantly, 2 irrigation channels got
damaged.

d. Parwak: Flood in Yarkhun river. Resultantly, DWSS supplying drinking
to Parwak Payeen and Parwak Center has been washed away due to rising
level of water in said river.
On 21072023, a torrential rainfall hit the upper part of Yarkhoon,
resulting in a heavy flash flood in village Meragran No. 2, Tehsil
Mastuj, the following houses have been damaged:

2. Mr. Hayat Ul Amin s/o Shahzada Amin. (House Fully damaged)

5. Shahzada Fazal Karim s/o Muhammad Zafar Jan.( House Fully damaged)
6. Hazrat Amin s/o Shahzada Amin.(House Fully damaged)

On 22072023, torrential rainfalls hit different part of the district, resulting
in a heavy flash flood in villages. The following damages are reported:

c. Gazeen Yarkhun 13 houses got damaged, 01 water supply scheme, 47
cattle perished, 07 shops
d. Brep 12 houses got damaged, 02 water supply schemes Deputy Commissioner Office Upper

e. Zhupu 01 house got damaged, 01 water supply scheme Chitral
f. Nishku 01 water supply scheme
g. Madak 01 water supply scheme
h. Junali Koach 01 irrigation channel
i. Power Yarkhun 06 houses got damaged

On 22072023, torrential rainfalls hit different part of the district, resulting
in a heavy flash flood in villages. A post disaster assessment was carried out Deputy Commissioner Office Chitral

Partially Houses, Crops 350 and Fruit Trees 1418 are reported.
On 24072023, due to the increase in water level in the river Yarkhoon,
river erosion occurred at village Chinar, Tehsil Mastuj. Resultantly, the
