1. Mythology and folklore are valuable additions. This means that it stimulates our minds to think, be
creative, and imagine. I believe that being exposed to literary works trains people to think more
critically, allowing our minds to think broadly and gather more information.
2. Readers can see life through the eyes of mythology and folklore. It is regarded as a reflection of life.
It assists us in gathering and developing new perspectives on life. Nonfictional works such as
biography, true-life stories, and values are examples.
3. Mythology and folklore can be appealing to children's eyes. It gives students opportunities to respond
to literature, it teaches students about their own cultural heritage as well as those of others, it helps
students develop emotional intelligence and creativity and lastly, it fosters student growth and
development.
Why is folklore considered as historical artifact? (10 pts) 
Folklore is deemed a historical artifact because it is an important element in the shaping of history, as it is a
living legacy that evolves over time and serves as a significant historical artifact. The characteristics of folk
literature as historical artifacts because it includes all myths, epics, fables, and folktales that are passed
down through generations by word of mouth.

1. Rationalism Theory - When we talk about rationalism. It refers to the logical viewpoint that views
reason as a source of intellect that distinguishes knowledge from opinion. The examination of myths
in such a way as to make sense of the statements contained with them without taking literally their
references to gods, monsters, or the supernatural in mythology and folklore.
2. Allegorical Theory - Allegorical literature is literature in which a character, setting, or event is used to
convey a larger message about real-world issues and occurrences. The significance of this in
mythology and folklore Anti-rationalists favor the allegorical approach to mythology, which interprets
mythic details as symbols of universal truth.

1. Naturalism - a literary movement that believes in the importance of family, social circumstances, and
environment in shaping human character. The importance of naturalism in mythology and folklore
stems from the fact that myth is a symbolic form generated, shaped, and transmitted by people's
creative imagination. Naturalism writers create stories based on the concept of human character.

2. Ritualism - is a ritual in worship services or ritual practices based on the symbolism's value. The
theory asserts that myths and rituals must go hand in hand, not that they do. In its most extreme
form, the theory asserts that myths and rituals cannot exist apart from one another.
Provide at least three genre of folk literature. Describe each. (10pts) *
1. Legend – The legends is a narrative of human actions that the storyteller believes actually happened
in human history. This is written in such a way that it is at the very least real/true. Nevertheless,
legends diverge from myths in that they depict a historical hero rather than a god or goddess.
2. Myth - This is a type of folk literature that contains traditional stories from various cultures. It is
involved with gods and goddesses, as well as other supernatural beliefs.
3. Fable - A fable is a short story that teaches a moral. This story's plot consists of a simple conflict and
resolution, followed by a maxim. Anthromorphized animals and natural elements are the main
characters in this.

1. (Legend – Structuralism)

foundations in the past. Both of these are concerned with culture, society, and language.

2. (Fable – Historical Criticism Theory)

Historical Criticism and Fable Theory is relevant in the way that primitive cultures presented the theory of cultural
development. It also believes that the study of a thing's origins provides the deepest knowledge of it, it also outlined
a concept of poetic logic through which one could grasp imaginatively the myths, customs, and fables.

3. (Myth – Structuralism)

Myth, with its system of oppositions, is also a kind of language, according to structuralists. Structuralism is a
theory composed of linguistic conventions and located among other texts. The plot or characterization
attempted to show how these trends were general and thus could be used to develop broad conclusions about
both individual works and the systems of which they surfaced.
