Many Filipinos believed that Shamcey Supsup should win the title, because Shamcey is more deserving.

And she proved that on the Question and Answer portion! Many were blown away by her answer to the question, Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person that you love? Why or why not?asked by Vivica A. Fox Shamcey replied, If I had to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love because the first person I love is God, who created me. I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God, too. Evidently, she is stunning, intelligent and amazing overall! But lets not take for granted the fact that Ms. Angola really did a good job, not at the Q&A but at Swimsuit and Evening Gown. She also looks like Venus Raj many noticed that. Remember that Venus hair were also pulled back that way during the previous Miss Universe Competition. Many Filipinos also expected that Shamcey would be able to get to the finals and they were right about it! Also, some guessed that she might also get Venus spot as 4th Placer, but she actually proved them wrong. I read many tweets and these are the tweets that really caught my eye. pokwang27 marietta subong Ang taray ng Philippines ( shamcey Supsup) sya lang ang walang interpreter?? Hahahahahaha Unkabogable talaga!!! pokwang27 marietta subong uso ang interpreter ngayon mag hahanap ako ng personal kong interpreter at araw2 ko syang kasama! Ganyan pala ang peg para manalo? Kakaloka! CHOKOLEITwits H L E I T The answer may not be universal, from a question that is bilateral, but Shamcey spoke in a language considered as global. Wag ng umepal. I must say, that Ms. Universe 2011 is not bias. Ms. Angola really deserves the crown. But I still cant figure out how Shamcey didnt get the higher spot that she really deserves. Anyway and anyhow, all of us are happy; at least shes able to represent not only our country with dignity, but also the Filipinos faith in God. With the Miss Universe 2011 winner crowned on Monday night, many are already talking about who they think should have won the pageant. According to media mogul, Oprah Winfrey, it should've been Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup taking the crown. Shamcey Supsup, who finished third in last night's contest, with Miss Angola crowned the 2011 winner, was an overwhelming fan favorite through an online poll with many fans in the Philippines supporting her. She also placed second in the evening gown competition, and many believe her answer in the final question round was the best overall. In fact many celebrities came out of the woodwork to praise Supsup on her poise and composure in the question round, including Oprah Winfrey, pictured from her role

in the movie "The Color Purple." With that said, Oprah spoke her mind with a recent statement that NBC news has reported saying, "I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point." One has to wonder if Oprah Winfrey will be speaking out more and more about different topics. It also might be wondered if she has political aspirations and wants to keep her name relevant as much as possible. Then again as they say, everyone's entitled to their opinion, and it seems there are many more people besides Oprah who believe Shamcey Supsup should be the Miss Universe 2011 winner. For several years the Q&A was the "make or break" of the candidates to the Miss Universe. If that, together with the other main event rankings were to be the basis, Miss Philippines should have won or atleast landed 1st runner up. Angola was not even good on the ramp and was "belled" during the Q&A. I think that the Miss Universe is really a rip off with some political forces or Donald Trump agendas and interests playing behind the scenes. For example, Miss Venezuela and Miss USA deserved to be among the top contenders. Also, they removed the transparency of showing the scores given by each judge. The judges also claimed that they were not the ones who wrote the questions; they were handed over by the organizers. They also removed the "one question for all the top 5 finalists" where the other contestants were placed in a sound proof booth while waiting for their turn to answer the same q. So I think the whole thing is a set up. The organizer's mistake was they showed the internet voting rankings which showed that Miss Philippines was the choice of people around the world while Miss Angola was the Miss Universe for a panel of 5 or more judges. Without the benefit of transparency, I even doubt it if the judges themselves are sure that the scores they gave were really reflected in the final tally. Placing Miss Philippines in the 3rd runner up now appears as a safety net to any further controversy that would arise if the organizers would opt for a portuguese-speaking candidate. But I commend Miss Philippines for the genuine humility by asking her countrymen not to fuel the controversy and instead accept the decision of the panel and/or the organizers with utmost humility.
