MARKS LETTER GRADES DESCRIPTOR

Excellent: Student has gone beyond mastery. They have found ways to show deeper
90-100 A* understanding than what was required. Student has made extra effort to go beyond the
criteria and able to work with unfamiliar questions.
Good: Student has mastered the material. Work is accurate, complete and submitted on
80-89 A time. Some effort has been made to go beyond the assignment and beginning to work with
unfamiliar questions.
Meeting Expectation: Student has partially mastered the material. Work is generally
70-79 B accurate, complete and submitted on time. Some effort was made to go beyond the
criteria.
Approaching: Student has completed the assignment as asked. There may be a few
60-69 C errors but overall the student understands most of the task and it is complete. No extra
work added.
Mediocre: Limited Achievement against most of the objectives, or clear difficulties in some
50-59 D areas. The student demonstrates a limited understanding of the required knowledge and
skills and is only able to apply them fully to normal situations with support.
Beginning: Student has tried to do the work but did not understand the assignment or do it
