1. Introduction

1.1. Executive summary

This instruction describes field programmable gate array (FPGA) release C10 for the AI05 and
AO05 analog input and analog output modules. Read this instruction in its entirety before
installing the FPGA program image.

This FPGA program image is being released as a general release to all customers

1.2. Version designation

The program image has filename we-pi-1900756-c-1-a.mcs.

1.2.1. Checksum and SHA256 Information

ABB generates SHA256 (cryptographic) hashes for all new releases of HR and SD series firm-
ware. The SHA256 hash is a 64-character string unique to the firmware file. See document
2VAA005129 in the My Control System widget on the MYABB customer portal for instructions
on how to use the SHA256 hash to verify the firmware program image is authentic and has
not been corrupted.

The checksum is 04137b87.

The table below provides SHA256 hash values for firmware revision C10.

The following hardware revisions are compatible with AI05/AO05 C10 FPGA.

1.4. Restrictions
This FPGA release requires AI05/AO05 firmware revision C_0 or higher. It has not been tested
with and is not compatible with earlier firmware revisions of the AI05 and AO05 modules.

All related documents are provided in PDF format and most of them are included on the Sym-
phony Plus DVD, the others are available for download from the My Control System widget on
the MyABB customer portal. To access the documentation on the DVD, select the option
“Browse DVD” from the Installation Manager menu, and navigate to the folder Documenta-

2. Modifications in this release

2.1. New functions

No new enhancements have been made in FPGA revision C10.

2.2. Fixed problems

The table below lists the problem resolved FPGA revision C10.

Issue Resolution

A partial failure of a component used to
generate clock signals results in the
module hanging and not properly shut-
ting down with the correct MFT halt error
code.
Changes have been made to FPGA code
to ensure the module goes offline and
properly halts with the correct MFT halt
error condition.
