PRACTICE

The bar chart illustrates the information about the number of people
visiting four different museums in London from June to October. Overall,
it can be seen that the highest number of visitors was mostly the British
museum, while the National museum had the lowest of these. Furthermore,
August was the month attracting the highest number of people for all
museums.

The figures for the History museum, the National museum and the British
museum were quite similar at around 400,000 people in June and July. In
contrast, only 200,000 visitors came to the National museum as their
destination in these two months.

In August, the number of people going to the British museum reached a

peak of over 700,000 visitors, followed by the History museum with
600,000 people, before dropping substantially in September and October.
The number of visitors to the Science museum remained the same in
August but it rose slightly in September then fell to merely 300,000 in
December. In the last month, visitor traffic to both the History museum
and the National museum was also lowest at 200,000 people, more or less.

HOMEWORK
The bar chart gives information about the percentage of four different
means of transport used to travel to and from work in a European city in
1960, 1980 and 2000. Overall, it can be seen that there was a significant
rise in the demand for cars over the period while the other means of
transport fell slightly.

In 1960, the proportion of people using cars stood at around 7%, nearly 5
times less than buses. After 20 years, the popularity of trains and cars
increased dramatically to 27% and 23%, respectively. In this year, the least
used type of transportation was the tube with 20%.
Finally, in 2000, car became the most popular transportation with
European resident at approximately 37%, followed by the tube with 25%
while the bus had hit the lowest point at 15% by the end of the period
