Expt 3: Linear and Non-linear curves

SET B (ECE-A)
Linear graphs 1:

1) Plot the graph of y = 4x in excel by using 10 values of x and y respectively. Set proper title and
axis for the curve.
2) Change the slope of the curve to 3 and draw another curve on the same graph.
3) Change the slope of the curve to -4 and draw another curve on the same graph.

Linear graphs 2:

1) Plot the graph of y = 2x - 5 in excel by using 10 values of x and y respectively. Set proper title
and axis for the curve.
2) Keeping the x intercept same, draw another curve with slope -4.

Non Linear graphs :

1) Plot the graph of x = 3y2 using 10 points on either side of the axis.
2) Find the approximate value of the minimum slope in the plotted region.
3) How does the graph change if we subtract a constant 5 from x ?

Superposition 1:

1) Plot the graph of y = x with 10 points (xi, yi).

2) Plot the graph for same equation, replacing each xi with 2xi
3) Plot the graph of y = 2x + 5 with 10 points (xi, yi).
4) Plot the graph for same equation, replacing each xi with 2xi
5) Observe the graphs in all 4 cases and jot down your observations.

Superposition 2:

4) Plot the graph of y = 2x2 with 10 points on either side of axis.

5) Plot the graph for same equation, replacing each xi with 2xi
6) Observe the two graphs and jot down your observations.
