(Project Polutbot)

Robotics Project Proposal

I. Introduction
In the Philippines, lots of trash is generated almost everyday. It will be
difficult to clean them all up because there is trash in almost every
area that you can see in our path. People don't always realize that
littering has a negative impact on the environment. Not only can it
harm our environment, but it can also harm people and animals who
live in the vicinity of the trash. We need to start thinking about ways
to lessen the effects of littering by figuring out how to improve and
save our current situation in our environment. As to how much
technology has advanced, we have gathered information and concepts
on building our very own Project Robot. This has a big impact since
our robot can help lessen the amount of the effects of the
environmental issue we are trying to solve. With the assistance of our
robot, this may help bring our environment back to normal and make
it clean in an efficient and effective way.

II. Robot Description and Function

As a solution to this environmental problem, our group has decided

on a project of creating a garbage collecting robot. It tackles the issue
of increasing waste with people refusing to dispose of it properly. The
robot is designed to pick up and collect trash on the floor. All the trash
is put and compiled to its back compartment. It can function
autonomously or it can also be manually controlled. The robot utilizes
input and output devices used in a mbot ranger to carry out its
function. Following are the sensors and components used by the
robot.

Input devices:
● Ultrasonic sensor
Processing device:
● Me Auriga microcontroller
Output devices:
● Encoder motor
The main input device used is the ultrasonic sensor, which is used to
measure the distance from an object. The robot utilizes it to detect
trash or obstacles. Then there are two encoder motors attached at
opposite ends of the robot arms. The encoder motor allows for the
movement of the arms to gather and collect trash. And the processor
used is the Me Auriga microcontroller. The Me Auriga will process the
input data sent from the ultrasonic sensor. And it will then send an
output data to the encoder motor to dictate its movement. All of these
devices make sures that the robot will carry out its function
efficiently.
