SCHOOL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
For the Month of January SY 2022-2023

Introduction

Pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 10121 otherwise known as the Philippine Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management of 2010, which mandates all national government agencies to
institutionalize policies, structures, coordination mechanisms and programs with continuing
budget appropriation, the Department of education issued DepEd Memo. No. 50 s. 2011 with
the goal to increase RESILIENCY in the school campus in the face of disasters and
calamities.

Aside from implementing disaster risk reduction mechanisms, this is also a way of
inculcating among learners the values of preparedness and RESILIENCY.

Learners were also encouraged to apply concepts and mechanism at home and in their
community to mitigate risks in times of calamity and disasters.

General Objective

The School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office aims to ensure safety
and preparedness of the school, learners, teachers and other non-teaching staff in times of
disaster. This can be achieved through risk reduction and management mechanisms, policies
and programs that are sustainable, continuous and institutionalized.

Specific Objective:

● establish safety protocols in the campus before, during and after:

o Fire
o Earthquake
o Typhoon or
o flood
● provide mechanisms to mitigate risks during fire, earthquake, typhoon or flood
● provide programs in maintaining the campus hazard-free and safe learning
environment
● provide information in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
● engage stakeholders in the shared responsibility to implement the School Disaster
Risk Reduction and Management
● teach learners the importance of SDRRM.

● strengthen students’ value of RESILIENCY.

Accomplishments

● Inspected and maintained DRRM facilities.

● Conducted Student LED Watching inspection in partnership with the SSG officers
● Maintained hazard-free classrooms
● Provided Emergency Hotlines and Evacuation Plan in every classroom
● Installed CCTV facility in the campus
● Inculcated among the learners the values of preparedness and RESILIENCY in the
face of disasters.

Highlights

A. Students are well informed on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

B. More DRRM mechanisms are provided in the campus

C. Stakeholders and the school work hand in hand in maintaining the school a safe
learning environment.

Conclusion

The School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management help maintain the school a
safe and hazard-free area for learning. It implements programs and activities to mitigate risks

ALWAYS READY. The School Disaster Risk

Reduction and Management (SDRRM)
coordinator spearheads together with the
learners in the monthly monitoring and
maintenance of GAMIT PAMATAY SUNOG, FIRE
EXTINGUISHERS and FIRE ALARMS.
He also oversees the provision of
EMERGENCY HOTLINES and EVACUATION
PLANS posted in every building and every
classroom. First Aid kits are also available in
every classroom.

CAMPUS SERVEILANCE 24/7.

One of the programs of the School
Disaster Risk Reduction
Management (SDRRM) is to make
the school campus safe from any
danger caused by intrusion from
unidentified persons which might
cause harm to learners, buildings,
facilities or any property of the
school. The installation of CCTV
device was made during the third
week of January 2023 to achieve
this goal. 8 high definition 90-
degree cameras were installed in
strategic places to Have an easier
monitoring in the different school
premises. This is also a move by
the school administration relevant
to the implementation of the value
of RESILIENCY for the month of
January.
