2019 Revised Rules of Court, The New Civil Code of the Philippines
General Course Description:
This course introduces and builds the understanding and appreciation of our municipal laws in
relation to some other foreign laws in addressing critical issues that arise when a dispute involves people
or events between the Philippines and another country, figure out which court should decide the case,
what jurisdiction’s law applies, and how to enforce a judgment across state or national borders.

Course Objectives:
Upon finishing this course, the students are enabled to:
1. Define Conflicts of Law and identify its important elements;
2. Identify and evaluate the issues and conflicts arising between parties, and propose the most
appropriate actions and remedies for their resolution
3. Master and appreciate the application of the provisions of our Municipal Laws and other relevant
laws in resolving issues and conflicts;
4. Apply learned concepts and principles of the law to real-life situations.

Course Requirements:

B. Periodic Examinations : 40%

C. Attendance : 10%

The FINAL GRADE shall consist of the 50% of the Mid-Term grade and 50% of the Semi-final
