1. Vocation is derived from the Latin word vox, meaning “voice” or “vocal”.

Vocation means – quite

literally- one’s entire life lived in response to God’s voice, or call. Deriving from the Latin word
meaning “to call” a vocation is just that--a calling. Which means it comes from without. We
cannot call ourselves, the one doing the calling has to be someone else. This person who calls
us is God himself. When we look at a vocation as this--as a calling wherein God is extending an
invitation to us that we have the privilege of answering it. Traditionally the term vocation was
used in the Catholic Church only to refer to priestly or religious vocations, the vocation to live a
life directly consecrated to God. How do I understand my own vocation? When I was in 6 th
grade, some seminarians went to our school. Actually, I was enrolled in a Catholic institution.
One of the seminarians talked about vocation, starting on that day, I finally understand what is
my own vocation. I dreamed to become a nun, I even dreamed to become a priest but all of
those were just my childhood dreams. I was called by our Lord to serve Him and His people. I
should be one of the instruments of God, who’s spreading God’s words and applying all His
teachings to us. Serving God is such an honor. I was also called to happiness and holiness. There
is pure happiness when I’m living with God. All I know that when I’m with God, there is a feeling
of fulfillment and contentment. As a Christian, holiness should be secured in one’s personality. I
reflect my actions to God’s teachings because to become a human we need to follow our best
model which is God. To have a better understanding of my own vocation, I’ll compliment it with
passion. In everything I do, there should be love and dedication. Vocation will be meaningless if
it is done without understanding one’s vocation. It is my vocation since I believed that it was
meant for me. I faced a lot of life lessons and experiences and through all of those, I was able to
find out what is my vocation in life. I also prayed to God that one day I will be able to recognize
my vocation and when I will discover it, I should do it with passion and put efforts in everything I
do. I observe how does the real world is working and how should I handle any situation that I
might encounter in my life.

2. God creates us with a capacity to know and love him, and we have a natural desire to seek the
truth about him. Fortunately, we don't search for God unaided; indeed, he calls us to himself
and writes his law on our hearts to help us draw closer to him. Conscience helps us hear the
voice of God; it helps us recognize the truth about God and the truth about how we ought to
live. Conscience is "a judgment of reason" by which we determine whether an action is right or
wrong. Conscience is a natural facility of our reason that does three things:

-Reminds us always to do good and avoid evil.

-Makes a judgment about the good and evil of particular choices in a specific situation.
-Bears witness after the fact to the good or evil that we have done. (I.e., having a guilty
conscience.)

Conscience is a powerful and remarkable facility that is distinctly human. Conscience play in
moral decision making by simply means of educating and follow as what does your conscience
tells you. Understand that conscience is a judgment of reason. Conscience serves as a reminder
during decision making. It reminds us if what choice should we choose whether the result is
good or bad. Everyone has a duty to form their conscience. Practicing the virtues is another
aspect of forming the conscience. This not only lets us do good acts, but it trains the will to
desire to do good. In particular, the virtue of prudence affects the ability of conscience to judge
rightly. Conscience does not always judge properly. Out of ignorance or bad reasoning, it can
judge wrongly. If our conscience errs and we’re responsible for the error, then we are guilty of
the evil committed. We are not guilty for the evil if we’re not responsible for the error.
Therefore, conscience plays a big role in our decision making for it helps us to arrive at a
conclusion on what choice do we need to choose and by looking the possible consequences of
our action.

3. When someone tells me that they don’t know what they want to do with their life, I will help
him or her to find their true essence of their life and how they should prosper it. Even me I also
undergo this kind of situation. This is not new to me; I can reflect myself to that someone who
also questioned about his or her existence in this world. I would tell that someone to take time
and take it easy. Don’t push hard yourself but keep calm and take the process smoothly. In order
to answer his or her question, he or she should have a strong relationship with God. Always
believe in Him no matter what. Pray your question to God, sooner or later He is going to give
you a sign or He will answer it. Welcome God in your life so that He will be able to guide you to
all of your questions or curiosity in life. Just keep on praying and apply His teachings. One day,
you’ll realize that you find the answer to your question. In relation to vocation, I will also help
her to understand what is the purpose of one’s calling. Although, we are called all by God but
we still have our own kind of calling. To be able to know one’s vocation, you’ll encounter a lot of
life lessons and experiences that will strengthen your capacity as an individual. You will discover
more about the real world and how can you handle it. Life plays a vital role in each and
everyone of us since we only borrowed it from God. If there is something you want to do with
life is to make the best out from it. Cherish your life since we only live once. As early as possible
start doing your mission and complete it. The true meaning of life is to live with God. Be good
and do good. Spend your time wisely, live your life happily and love God purely. Always reflect
God’s teachings and apply it. Just like Mother Teresa, she left her privilege life and chose to live
with the poor because she believes in humanity. You’ll be able to know what you want to do
with your life when you start experiencing the real world and how does it work. You’ll better
understand life once you put yourself to others. The most important thing is that do whatever
you want to do with your life for as long as you are doing great and for that you are living a good
life.
