My First Trip Abroad

I still remember my first trip abroad like it was yesterday. I went to Sweden for three months. The day my trip
started was frantic. I remember waking up at 3 a.m. to go to the airport. My flight was leaving at 9 a.m. and
I had to be there at least two hours before to register my boarding pass and my baggage. When I got to the
airport, I started feeling anxious because I was about to board a 12-hour flight. I didn’t know what I was going
to do with so much time on my hands and I have always been nervous before boarding a flight.

When I got on the plane I was amazed at its size. It was huge. It had two floors. First class was on the top floor,
near the cockpit, and coach was on the bottom. The flight attendants were smiling and greeting everyone, so
I felt more relaxed.

When I finally found my seat, I put my carry-on bag in the overhead compart-
ment and sat down. The captain greeted everyone on board over the speaker.
The flight attendant started giving instructions on how to put on our seat belts
and what to do in case of emergency. I heard the engines turn on. We were get-
ting ready to take off. My first experience by myself abroad was about to start.
