Topic:
Frustrated readers are students who have difficulty learning to read. They may have difficulty
decoding words, understanding what they read, or both. Their performance in the higher grades
depends upon the pre-training activities they acquired from the previous level which elevates them
to the next reading degree level. Struggling readers can be found at all levels of education, from
kindergarten to high school. However, when learners have good reading foundation they are likely
to achieve better performance in the succeeding level.
Lessons Learned (personal experiences of how the strategy) or not in his/her class)
Easy points (what was easy to learn or apply to learners and why)
Choosing the right books and other supplementary reading materials are therefore
necessary. The books you choose should be at the students' level of need in reading. This
will help them to feel successful and avoid frustration. Also, using good motivation in
reading is needed before going over on a reading activity
One challenge is keeping students on-task. When students are working dependently or
with partners, it can be difficult to keep them focused on the task at hand. This is especially
true for students who are easily distracted or who have difficulty staying organized.
Learning with peers is is also good for slow readers.
