I. Rationale
When the pandemic stretches out its wings within the educational system, we tend to bend
from the usual trend of the teaching and learning process and switch to the New Normal
Educational System in various means to reach out the learners. We build bridges to cater the needs
of the current crisis we are facing. Career planning is an essential decision in a person’s life. It is
important that learners are well-informed as well as well-guided through regarding their choices
and options in their exploration of programs and activities. The enormity of the struggle that the
learners have all experienced is bound to make them think deeply about themselves, their values,
and the way that they spend their lives in the present and the future that awaits as well. This is
where career guidance comes in, as career guidance is essentially a set of tools that help learners
decide and choose which path should they take, how to manage and balance life and so on. The
pandemic is a time when career guidance is desperately needed. The educational system embraces
the challenge of bringing back the spirit of the young people to have positive perspective and
outlook in life with strong support system. This is another reason why career guidance is
significant not merely because in challenging economic times, but the need to reach out the
learners and guide them to find their way. Likely, it is important not just to view career guidance as
a support service but it is also an educational act.
Furthermore, Career guidance has often helped learners to accommodate to the world
around them rather than challenge it. This program needs to become more assertive about
helping the young ones become active participants in change rather than recipients of it.
In drawing conclusion to a close, learners should be equipped with the capability to make
educated career decisions and expose them to relevant labor engagements and ensuring that
quality and preparedness of entering tertiary education which will later resolves to meet the
requirements of the government, industry, and the economy.
