How do you know if someone is suicidal and having trouble with their mental health?
Recognizing the warning signs of a potentially suicidal person is crucial for offering help and
support. If you believe someone you know might be at risk for suicide, it's important to take their
feelings seriously and seek professional help immediately. Here are some warning signs to be
aware of:

1. Previous Suicide Attempts


 A person who has attempted suicide in the past is more likely to do so again.
2. Social Isolation
 Cutting off social relationships, retreating from friends and family, or feeling distant
can be a sign of trouble.
3. Increased Agitation
 Noticeable increases in irritability, aggression, or agitation may indicate emotional
distress.
4. Talking About Suicide
 Take someone seriously if they express openly their feelings of hopelessness, lack of
motivation to live, or want to die.
5. Expressing Hopelessness
 A person who expresses a pervasive sense of helplessness or a sensation of being
stuck in their circumstances
6. Withdrawing
 A person who expresses a pervasive sense of helplessness or a sensation of being
stuck in their circumstances
7. Increased Risky Behaviors
 Exhibiting risky behavior, abusing drugs, or parting with priceless items.
8. Loss of Interest
 A sudden lack of interest in personal appearance, hygiene, or activities can indicate a
decline in mental health.
